Chapter 3

[Modern Sonic Universe]
{Shadow's P.O.V.}
"Miles... You better turn on this thing right NOW." I said as calmly as I could, but my heart was racing and I began to panic.

Sonic was in that random dimension. Without any idea to where he is. Without a way of communicating with us.

"I think I got it...!" Miles said and started typing on his computer, making the portal light a dim color.

As the light became brighter, I could hear Sonic's voice. 

My ears perked up as I felt a little spark of hope light up inside me. But that feeling soon fainted when I got hit by Sonic as he dashed towards me and bumped into me with all his force. 

We both fell on the floor and groaned loudly. 

"My head..." I heard Sonic said lowly and slowly opened my eyes. 

It sounded like Sonic, but he didn't sound a lot like Sonic. 

I looked at him at the same time as he looked at me and raised a brow when he quickly stood up and looked at me in shock.

"Sonic...?" Miles lowly asked after a bit and walked to him. "What happened to you...?"

This wasn't Sonic...

This wasn't my Sonic...

"Buddy?" He looked at Tails confused. "Why are you so different...? Where are we...? Why isn't Shadow attacking you...?" He started asking questions as he looked around and glared at me. "What are you doing with Tails?"

"Wait. Sonic. Hold on." Miles shook his head. "Have you happen to see a weird version of yourself...?" He smiled sheepishly. "And a weird portal?"

"...Yes..." Sonic said quietly and gasped when he realized what happened. "You have to get me back...!" He shouted at Tails. "I can't leave my friends alone!"

"Well, our Sonic is with them, there's no rush." Miles mumbled. 

"Can't you just take me back?" Sonic walked back to the portal. "Come on, I can't be gone for too long."

"Well... About that..." Miles smiled sheepishly and took a step back revealing his computer screen. It was bright red and had Eggman's face on it. "Egghead caught me..."

"Miles!" I shouted when I saw that. "Fix this now!"

"I can't...! My computer is hacked...!" Miles lowered his ears. "I have to get to Eggman's computer so I can get the control back..." 

"This is all your fault!" I growled and glared at him. "Sonic is locked in this alternative universe all alone!" I pointed at the portal as I kept my eyes on him. 

"Hey! Watch your mouth!" Sonic walked in front of Miles when his eyes became watery. "Tails has nothing to do with this! Eggman is the one that locked me in here!" He growled back at me. "Stop growling at a kid and go to Egghead's base if you want to help!" 

I stayed quiet at that. Sonic never got mad at me before, so this took me off guard. I rolled my eyes at him, knowing he wasn't the hedgehog I was dating and chaos controlled to the Doctor's base. 

I sent Rouge my coordinates in case Metal attacked me and sneaked inside the lair. I was pissed at everyone and everything.

I don't know how to feel about this...

If I find Sonic with the slightest bruise...

I'll... 

I'll heal it... 

That's all I was created for either way...

[Sonic Boom Universe]
{Sonic's P.O.V.}
"WHAT?!" Amy shouted at me when I told her that their Sonic had gone through the portal that brought me there. "You can't be serious!!"

"Well, Tails and Shadow are there so-" I tried to calm her down but that only made her shout even louder.

"SHADOW?!" She growled lowly. "Is he the reason you're here? I swear when I find him I'll break his spine! Both the one in this dimension and yours." 

"Woah! Hey! Calm down!" I lowered my ears at how high her voice was when she said his name. "Why are you so mad at Shadow? He's not that bad..." 

"Excuse me?" Amy raised a brow crossed her arms. "He's hurt us all so many times! And even teamed up with Eggman! How the heck is he 'not that bad'?" 

"Yikes..." I whispered and shook my head. " I mean that the Shadow at... my universe..." I wasn't used to saying that. "The Shadow I know isn't like that, he's helped us many times and has completely changed from how he was before."

"How can you be so sure?!" Sticks glared at me. "He's an alien!! Aliens can't be trusted!"

"That's not true..." I mumbled, feeling slightly offended. "Shadow can be trusted..."

"I agree with Sticks. Shadow can't be trusted." Amy shook her head. "No matter the universe, he will always be a coldhearted beast that wants to harm us. Even Eggman." 

"Right..." I slowly nodded, now feeling awkward and somehow betrayed. "Can we go back to how we will make the portal and get me back home?"

"Right." I heard Tails say from the other corner of the garage, behind his plane. "It'll take a while, I haven't finished my studies or the design of the portal. And most importantly, I don't know from what universe you're from." He shook his head. "It'll take a while. Probably days, or even weeks."

I sighed and nodded, I knew there was no way I could help since I barely knew how to play a game on Tails' computer at my universe.

I turned to look at Amy that was looking at the sea with her ears lowered and had a concerned look on her face. 

I then realized something that I never thought I'd have. I smiled sheepishly when suddenly understood why she was so upset when I told her that the Sonic from this universe was gone, and for some reason, I felt guilty for taking it so lightly.

"So... How are things with you and Sonic...?"
