>Dracious' POV<
I was woken up by a knocking on the window beside me, groggily, I opened my eyes and saw that Taylor had returned with a letter tied to his legs. I opened the window and took off the letter then let Taylor go to the Owlery. I placed the letter on my bedside cabinet then went back to sleep.
~FEW HOURS LATER~
"Me sock! Has anyone seen me sock?" said the voice of Rooney.
I rubbed my eyes with the back of my hands, trying to get the sleep out of my eyes. I sat up, my blond hair flopping onto my face, touching my lashes. I pushed my hair out of my face, but to no avail when it flopped back in place.
"Need a haircut soon." I thought to myself, groaning as I realised I now have to use my gel, to ensure that my hair would not interfere during the lessons.
"Good morning, Dracious." Ron said, a small smile on his face.
"Good morning." I said, before realising Ron had not stuttered at all. Nerves...
I grabbed my robes, where the Gryffindor Lion had magically appeared there last night, and slipped it on then went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. After freshening up, I went to my trunk and rummaged through for my gel, then applying it on my hair, making it slick back and not fall on my face. Not comfortable. Just then I remembered the letter Taylor had brought back the night before.
I looked up and saw a small roll of parchment on my bedside cabinet. I could just make out my father's familiar cursive handwriting on it. I looked up and saw it was five minutes away from half past eight and decided to grab my book bag and stuffed the letter into one of the compartments and i fled down the stairs and out of the potrait hole, then slowed down as I went down the stairs to the Great Hall.
Soon the chattering filled my ears, and a grin spread across my face. I walked into the Great Hall and spot the sparkling blonde hair of Dora. I walked up to her and found that she had saved three seats for Remus, Ron and I. Smiling I sat down next to Dora and served myself some bacon.
"Where's Ron?" Dora asked, turning to me.
Holding my hand up to tell her to hold on while I chewed the strip of bacon. "Getting ready, I think. I left the dorm in a hurry." I said, after having swallowed the strip of bacon.
Dora handed me a piece of parchment where our class schedule was written. I thanked her and observed the class schedule.
1. Transfiguration.
2. Double Potions
3. Lunch
4. Herbology
5. Care of Magical Creatures
6. History of Magic.
Please note that each class is 50 minutes long and classes start at 9.30. Also, no students are be out of bed after eleven. Enjoy.
"Look who finally decided to grace us with their presence?" Dora said sharply, obviously annoyed.
A groggy looking Remus, plopped down on the bench and grabbed some porridge and started eating. He extended his hand to Dora and he was given his class schedule. Looking at her watch, Dora stood up and turned and left.
"What time is it?" I asked Ron.
Ron looked at his watch, then said with a full mouth,"Nine." I thanked Ron, then wondered why Dora had left so early.
"Maybe she left something at the common room." I thought.
"She went to the library." Remus replied, noticing my puzzled look.
I dug through my bag and found the letter from last night in my quills compartment.
"Dear Dracious,
We are elated by the news that you have been placed in Gryffindor. We have already received a letter from Muriel, complaining about you being in Gryffindor. Well, that letter is in ashes now.
I remember Teddy Lupin. A great friend he is. I remember Professor Longbottom, best herbology teacher, although he is scary. Frank Longbottom is a close friend of mine from when I was in Hogwarts. I think their nerves run in the family, Frank was really stutter-y on the first day of school.
We hope you have a great first day of school. Your roomates with Finnigan. Be careful son, he's a big prankster. We will be waiting for your letter every fortnight. Hope you and Taylor are well.
Love,
Father.
P.S. Your mother is asleep, I think she will send you a letter in the morning. "
Just as I had finished reading, the morning post arrived. All kinds of owls flew through the hole at the top of the Great Hall, spotting the grey eagle owl, Mercy, through the throng of owls as he made his way towards me. Dropping the letter into my hands then hooted appreciatively when I handed it a piece of bread, then spread its wings and took off.
I placed the letter in my bag as Professor Hermoine stood onto the podium.
"Good morning students. Today will be the first day of lessons. Hopefully you will all have a great first day. Now, it's already a quarter past nine, so better get to class. Bye." She said.
The benches scraped on the ground, as students stood up and made their way out of the Great Hall and to class.
