3rd Person P.O.V
On the Same Day as the Sovereign Meeting
Kaminari stared up at the prison entrance.
Gaisho Kazoku Prison
"Why are we coming here?", he asked. "Are you going to lock me up?"
Kaminari had managed to put a temporary limit on his power, allowing him to touch others without worrying about frying their brains. Immediately after setting the limit, Hisashi had told him they were going on a special training lesson and taken him to this prison.
"Don't be ridiculous.", Hisashi answered. "We're to meet somebody for training."
As they bypassed the multiple levels of security, Kaminari couldn't help but shake the feeling that he remembered the name Gaisho Kazoku from somewhere, he just couldn't quite pin it down. Maybe it was something from history class?
"Gaisho Kazoku is a prison made for non-quirk-related murderers and other severe criminals.", Hisashi explained as they handed their wallets to a security guard. "It's well known for being a stronghold for Destro back in the day, but it's since been adapted to hold the all kinds of criminals, male and female alike."
"I see.", Kaminari said. "But why are we here? What relation does this have with my training?"
"Before you become stronger in the body, you must become stronger in the mind.", Hisashi answered simply. "A little something I learned back in the day when I learned karate."
"I don't know if you knew, but I'm a bit of an idiot.", Kaminari said with a blank face. "What does that mean?"
"You are here to heal your mind."
Before Kaminari could ask any further, they arrived at an interrogation room, with guards flanking the door. They both nodded to Hisashi before opening the door for the two of them.
"When we go in, I won't say anything unless I need to, got it?", Hisashi said as he ruffled Kaminari's hair. "This time is for you to heal, not for me to talk."
Kaminari just stared at him in confusion before peering into the room. Inside, he saw the two people he would never forget, no matter how old he got. They were the people who Kaminari least wanted to see at the moment, and here they were both shackled to the interrogation table.
"After you."
Kaminari numbly stepped into the door and took the seat adjacent to the two people while Hisashi stood behind him, his arms crossed. After a light nudge from Hisashi, Kaminari began to speak.
"Hey... Step mom. Step dad.", he managed slowly.
The woman with faded red hair who looked to be in her fifties, and the bald man who looked the same age only nodded.
"Is this what you meant by healing?", Kaminari asked Hisashi, who only nodded in response.
There was an awkward silence, but the woman with the red hair broke it.
"You've... grown a lot.", she murmured without meeting Kaminari's eyes. "It was quite the surprise for us when the guards told us that someone was here to meet us... from the looks of it, you weren't expecting this either."
Kaminari only nodded in response. He then turned to Hisashi, and pleaded.
"I don't think I can do this right now... can we please leave?"
Hisashi stared at him for a second, then nodded his head. As Kaminari started to get off the chair, his stepmom suddenly called his name.
"Wait!", she blurted, panting. "I... I have something that I have to say before you leave."
