ᴊᴜsᴛɪɴᴇ
ᴊᴜʟʏ 21, 2019Sitting in Barnes & Noble, I read the pages of my book and sipped on my coffee. I needed a little energizer today after sleeping so much yesterday. After unpacking damn near everything in my suitcases, I turned my phone on do not disturb and knocked out. Literally all night.
When I woke up this morning, I was a little skeptical about leaving my room. I didn't want to have to run into my roommate. He gives off a rude vibe and I have no time for that type of energy. Luckily, when I left the room, he wasn't there. His room door was open, but he wasn't in the room, so I was glad about that.
I left my dorm today with really no plans. Classes don't start for another week and a half, so I didn't have much of anything to do. I came here for the free coffee and silence. Although the dorm was also quiet this morning, that doesn't mean he won't come back. I'm not risking my peace and quiet when I could just come here.
I found this place when I was taking a little tour of campus. I already had a tour my senior year of high school before I even got accepted, but it's different now. It's like now I can really take it in and enjoy it.
As I was reading my book, my coffee cup tipped over and I ended up spilling a little bit on my sweater.
"Shit!" I whispered, getting up and going to the table that had the coffee maker on it. It also held napkins, so I grabbed a couple, starting to dab my sweater to get the little spot to dry. It took almost five whole napkins just to get it to dry up.
"Clumsy, huh?" A male voice said from behind me. I turned around seeing a familiar face and gave a smile.
"Quincy," I said, remembering that it was the same name as my uncles.
"Justine," he smiled back.
"Are you stalking me?" I raised my eyebrow, playfully.
"Nah, just casually walking past and saw you in the window," he said.
"Mhm," I smirked and walked back over to the table I was sitting at previously.
I didn't notice him following me until I saw him appear in the seat in front of me through my peripherals. I felt his eyes on me, but I had already gone back to reading my book. I was almost finished with it, so I planned on doing that.
"Anybody ever tell you that you're beautiful?" He asked, smirking.
"Just you. Yesterday," I said.
"Well I think you should be hearing that everyday," he said.
"Are you flirting with me, sir?" I chuckled.
