ACT II
INT. DAILY PLANET, AFTERNOON
Cut to Perry White's office the next day, where Lois, Jimmy, and Clark are all sitting around discussing the recent events of Clark fighting the Parasite. A big projector is showing an enlarged image of Jimmy's photos of the "Caped Wonder" - one of Clark fighting the Parasite, another of him standing over the frozen monster, and a third of him leaping away after the battle. The main trio are calm and cool over the information, while Perry is pacing the floor in excitement, convinced he's uncovered the story of the century.
PERRY WHITE
But who is he? Where did he come from? What does he want?
(takes a closer look at one of the pictures)
And what the hell is with the cape?
(looks back at the main trio, who seem to be much calmer than him)
Look who I'm asking...
Lois stands up , walks over to the projector screen, and takes a closer look at the S-shield on Clark's t-shirt.
LOIS LANE
(amused and curious)
I'm digging the "S"...
CLARK KENT
(looking up from some papers)
'Scuse me?
LOIS LANE
(points to the shield)
Right here - some kind of an "S" on his shirt.
(suddenly comes up with an idea)
OK guys, bear with me here - he's strong, he's fast, he shoots lasers from his eyes; he's the Nietzschean ideal all wrapped up in a red cape - the...Superman.
(looks towards the others with a smile)
Eh?
Perry stops pacing and studies the pictures again.
PERRY WHITE
Superman...I love it! It's catchy, it sticks with you, it's got branding potential to say the least - it's a name that looks great splashed across three- no, four columns!
(suddenly considers something)
Provided one of you can get an interview with him...Kent, maybe you can try something?
CLARK KENT
Me? I'm not sure...
PERRY WHITE
Well, someone better come up with something and come up with it fast! I've never seen the city in such a state!
(looks out the window)
I mean, sure, he was always an urban legend, but this is definitive proof! The Superman walks among us! If we don't get answers soon there could be a full-scale panic!
Perry looks behind him, and is surprised to see the three reporters still standing there.
