EXT. LEXCORP BUILDING, EVENING

On the courtyard of the LexCorp building, a huge crowd of reporters are swarming a line of limousines that have lined up outside the building for some sort of event. The whole thing plays like a red carpet event for the company, with anyone who's anyone showing up for Lex Luthor's latest charity gala.

The camera moves over to Cat Grant, who is rushing to apply her makeup before the big broadcast goes out.

CAT GRANT

(to her makeup artist)

Come on, Lars, we don't have all night to get this on- Wait, we're on!

Cat cartoonishly shoves the guy out of the shot, as we can hear a cat screeching and a trash can falling over offscreen for maximum comedic effect. Cat briefly brushes her hair back before beginning the evening report.

CAT GRANT

Gooooood evening, Metropolis! This is Cat Grant reporting for Daily Planet Communications. It's a beautiful evening in front of LexCorp Tower as Lex Luthor's latest ego-stroking-

(clears her throat)

Erm, I mean charity ball, is starting to get underway! We've got guest stars from all over the country - presidents, tycoons, debutantes -

(whispers towards the camera)

I even hear Bruce Wayne might make an appearance!

Suddenly, Cat gets a message into her earpiece.

CAT GRANT

(disappointed)

Oh...it seems Bruce Wayne has canceled at the last second.

(gets another message in her earpiece)

I don't know, something about the Russian ballet...

(quickly snaps back to attention)

Wait, some more guests are coming this way! Let's take a look!

Cut a multitude of guests on the red carpet, some waving to the camera while others are just trying to get inside the building. On the side with all the photographers stands Jimmy Olsen, snapping photos with the best of them, while simultaneously talking to someone on his cell phone.

JIMMY OLSEN

Hey, Darcy! Ms. Lewis, over here!

(snaps a photo)

So Clark, how's the party going inside?

CUT TO:

INT. LEXCORP BALLROOM, EVENING.

Cut to Clark shaking the hand of a man post-interview and watching him walk away. He is wearing a black suit and tie which he struggles to loosen as he looks around the room. While mostly there for the story, he looks incredibly uncomfortable being in such a large social environment looking and probably feeling like a gorilla stuffed into a tuxedo.

CLARK KENT

Not gonna lie, Jimmy...it's a little overwhelming! I don't think I've ever seen a party this big before - at least since I left home...
