the next two days passed by with brick in an unusual sort of trance.

he'd wake up, go to the great hall for food, go to classes, argue with pinky, spend a few of his free periods studying or playing quidditch with his brothers, then at night he'd sit with blossom and grade papers.

on the third night of detention however, things were different.

when entering the charms classroom, he was greeted by the teacher, "I have something different for you two to do tonight"

both him and pinky shared a look

"the whole sitting and having a conversation thing hasn't exactly been working out, so I want you two to do a trust exercise"

brick bit back a laugh, Merlin this dude is starting to sound more and more like the divination professor, he thought to himself. everyone knew said professor only rambled about whatever nonsense came to mind.

"I, of course won't be there, and for the sake of everyone else's sanity, we need you two to at least start being civil to one another with out a teacher being involved"

The Professor cleared his throat, "so for the next two nights, (maybe more depending on how it goes) I'll set up something that involves trusting each other"

"that's nice and all professor but who's to say we won't end up killing each other" pinky said from beside him, giving the professor a mock smile

"it's simple my girl, we are wizards after all, I'll set up some spells to make sure you won't leave, and besides, if anything happens to either of you, I'd know exactly who did it"

the two students shared another look, both obviously unamused by the teachers meddling to try to get them to tolerate one another

"As for tonight, as I know you aren't very fond of this, and I apologize my dear, but I thought Mister Jojo would take you out flying—"

"What! No way, absolutely not!" Blossom began, flailing her arms around like a madman and almost hitting brick in the stomach, "there must be something against this in the rule book—"

"I'm afraid not Miss Utonium, I've already cleared it up with the headmaster!"

Of course the old loon would be okay with it, Dumbledoors bout' lost his wits by now.. Brick thought to himself

brick watched blossom as she argued with the professor, he didn't really mind flying with her, but he didn't really want to either. He just didn't get why it was such a big deal to were she had to argue with the teacher

After a few more minutes of arguing, she finally gave in, and the three of them treaded down to the quidditch pitch. The professor mentioned that he already set up some spells, and how he had some business to attend to, so before they knew it they were alone.

"I'm not doing this" she said simply

"why not?" Brick asked with a quizzical brow

"it's— it's irrational. Besides, I don't even let my sisters take me flying.." she pouted, Brick thought it made her look more like a child than a fifteen year old

Brick thought back to their first year flying lessons, she had been particularly bad now that he remembers. in fact, he couldn't seem to think of another time were pinky was actually on a broom..

"let's do it" Brick said after a couple minutes of silence and just standing on the quidditch pitch

"What?" She asked, obviously in shock

"You've seen me fly before!" He said, before accio-ing this broom, he caught it with one hand just as it came towards them

"No way am I getting on that death trap! especially not with you, who's the say you won't just shove me off!"
