Chapter 17

Again, this is one of those chapters. So sorry but am too lazy to delete it and it makes somewhat sense. Forgive my brain.

"Your what?!" Iris asks in shock. Everybody looked at them, wondering what they were talking about. 

Iris, knowing Selene is King Arthur, wonders who her brother really is. None of the books she's read or tales she heard has ever mentioned Arthur having a brother. But it shocked her, more people from so long ago. 

"Wait, who's your brother?" Blaise asks. 

"It's a long story." Selene whispered. 

"Make it short." Daphne said snappishly. 

"I..." Selene looked away. "Iris..."

"More secrets?" Daphne asked crossing her arms. 

Selene forces her self to look anywhere but at them. "Not here." She says quietly. 

"Then where?" Draco asked crossing his arms. 

"Yeah...either come in here or let us out." Blaise says. 

Selene looked at them. "And what...Iris runs off and does something that could ruin her life?" 

"Just tell us already!" Theo said looking annoyed. "It can't be that bad!" 

"I told you what happened, Iris! I told you about my sister!" Selene says looking straight at Iris. "He knew....he knew and he was sent away!" 

Iris stared at Selene in silent shock. She felt like time was running out. Not just for Ares, but for everyone. "The orphanage..." She whispers. 

Selene sighed and nods. "After that he came here..but then...he...he...we lost him. And that is what is happening right now. I think...Since coming here...I've felt my brothers presence. He is here in the castle. I just don't know where." She explained. 

"So all this time you were just here plotting to help your brother?" Daphne asked with a scowl.

"No! I..." Selene looked straight at Iris. "I was telling the truth about why I came here...I didn't even know he was here...or even...any trace of him until I got here." 

Iris didn't know what to think or believe. She knew she could trust Selene, but she also knew Selene was keeping things from her. She screams as she bends down and pulls at her hair. "Iris!" Her friends gasped and rushed to her side only for her to push them back. 

"I can't...I can't do this....it's too much." She says as she paces around the room, her bloody hands shaking as she tried to calm herself down. She looks to the window and hurries over to it. 

"Iris!" Draco exclaims in horror as she grabs the pole holding the candles and breaks the glass. 

Suddenly she is frozen and cannot move. 

"Iris..." Selene trailed off. "I'm sorry. I will make it up to you." She said in a promising tone before disappearing quickly. 

Iris fell to the floor as she was suddenly able to move again and gasped out. 

Her friends hurried over to her. "Iris! What the bloody hell were you thinking?! Were you just -- just gonna jump?!" Daphne exclaims as Iris sits up. 

Tears roll down her cheeks. "No...no, I had to...I have to get out...I need to get out." Iris says as she stands up and goes for the window again only to find a barrier. She throws herself at the barrier over and over until Daphne grabs her. 

"Iris! Stop it!" She screams and Iris bursts into tears. "Why are you so upset over this? He is only an otter!" 

Iris cries as she falls to the floor in a heap of sobs. "I...I don't know...I just...I don't...I can't...explain it...he's important...if he dies...then I...I failed..."
