THE MEMORIES REPLAYED IN DAPHNE'S HEAD OVER AND OVER AGAIN. It had only been three days and she didn't get any sleep at all. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw it. She saw the bat and Abraham and Glenn and Negan's smirk as he beat them to death.

She opened her eyes and stared over at the bedside. Daphne lifted her head up a bit and saw Carl sleeping beside her. She had slept in his bed for the last few days. She couldn't sleep alone, not after what happened.

Daphne saw how peaceful Carl slept and wondered what she did to deserve him. She sat up in the bed and sulked for a minute or two. She decided to go downstairs and made it down quietly.

The girl looked around and entered the kitchen and saw the bottle of Jack on the counter. She sighed, debating on if she should have a drink. She remembered how much her mom drank when she was upset. Daphne looked around, making sure that Carl or Rick wouldn't catch her as she popped open the cap of the bottle and took a deep breath and drank from the bottle.

It had been about an hour and all Daphne did was just drink the bottle. Back in his bedroom, Carl had sat up and noticed that Daphne hadn't been in the bed next to him. He decided to go downstairs and check if maybe she had left and went back to her house, maybe?

"Daphne?" He whispered out and Daphne had been sitting on the floor, sprawled out and tried sitting up but hit her head. "Ow." She whined. She had been hiding behind the counter and Carl rushes over to the girl and looks down at her.

"Daphne, it's 3 in the morning, what are you doing?" He asks her and then his eye thwarts over to the bottle of Jack next to her. "You're drunk." He stared and Daphne smirked. "Yeah, I'm drinkin'. To numb everything, mostly."

Daphne went to take another drink from the bottle but Carl knelt beside her, wanting her to knock it off. "Come on, let's get you to bed." He said. "No!" Daphne whined like a child. "Daphne—" Carl tried. "No." She told, looking at him. She looked at the bottle and took a sip from it.

She scoffed and shook her head. "They destroyed us." She stated and looked at the ground. "Daph—" Carl tried, but she interrupted him. "They destroyed us... and we let them." Daphne repeated and closed her eyes.

"Daphne, we can't keep dwelling on this. We have to move on and focus on getting him when he least expects it." Carl told. Daphne scoffs to Carl's words. "Easy for you to say. You know, if it was the other way around, we would've killed them. We would've killed them all."

The girl looks ahead and remembered how weak she felt that night. "I never felt that helpless before. That night, I felt utterly weak. And I hated that feeling. And every time I close my eyes, all I see is that asshole beating them to death." Tears brimmed in her eyes, threatening to fall. "And I'm so afraid that that's what I'll see for the rest of my life. I'm so afraid." She admitted.
