"Miss Ramirez! Welcome to the party!" Mister Tolentino greeted her with a kiss on the cheek and a warm hug.
"You're too formal, Mister Tolentino. Para naman tayong hindi magkaibigan niyan." Her lips curved upward and released soft chuckles.
"Oo nga naman." He shook his head with a smile on his face. "Handa ka na ba, Lea?"
"I am always ready, Chard." She said in a convincing tone. "Tara na pumunta na tayo sa loob. I'm sure she's dying to see me already."
Lea gave her key to the valet.
Richard Tolentino is one of Lea's trusted friends. She has known him from the university, aside from that he was her blockmate, he was also the president of their organization. His family but his father is dead serious when it comes to business.
At some point, he is having doubt on whether to continue their winery business or start anew.
Still few steps away from the hall but Lea can already sense a huge crowd of business people.
"After you." Richard gestured.
As soon as they entered the room, shining and extravagant decorations appear before their eyes.
The cocktail tables were very simple yet pleasing in the eyes with candle lighted cylinder and flowers as its centerpeice.
As usual, there is a red carpet. Everyone is wearing their luxurious and designer gowns.
Lea is just following Richard's lead to where her friend is. She has already seen familiar faces. This will be an energy-draining night.
"Miss Tolentino!" Gleefully, Lea gave her a very professional hug and kiss. "You missed me?"
Married to Richard Tolentino, Dawn is also her trusted and one-call-away friend and was a seatmate.
Lea used to be her crying shoulder because her parents did not want her to dive into business but into law school. She was only able to convince her parents before their graduation.
The married couple really loves each other back in the day and up until now.
"No, Miss Ramirez." She rolled her eyes. "Just kidding. Look at you, you look very beautiful and fancy tonight."
"Thanks! Actually, I didn't get enough sleep last night just for paper works." She sighed.
"You're still kicking those eye bags, don't worry."
Lea gave her phone a glance, "why don't we take a picture? Do'n tayo, walang sagabal."
As if on a cue, Richard came back. The ladies wanted a wacky photo but it turned out pretty formal.
"Dawn, I cannot stay formal when I'm with you." Lea placed her pouch on the table and grabbed a glass of wine.
"Ako rin. But we have to deal with this. Kailangan pa natin makabola at hindi magpabola." She winked and grinned.
Lea looked around, "this is such a big pool of potential investors, what do you think?"
"I have the same thought. Tignan mo nga si Chard, hindi na napakali at ang dami nang nakausap, kanina nga ay ayaw ka pang sunduin."
"Hindi mo na naman kasi ako kailangan ipasundo, hindi na ako bata." She sipped on her wine.
"Pinilit ko talaga siya baka kasi mamaya biglang dumating ang iyong T-O-W-B-M."
"And that stands for?" With an arched brow she asked.
"The one who broke me."
Hearing Dawn's answer, Lea cringed. "That is something I won't accept... ever!"
