Chapter 1

"We're here!" Vice squealed as soon as the car stopped in the driveway.

He is Lea's best friend, she has known him since high school, they went to the same school but they got separated only physically when they entered college and used to live few houses away from each other.

Vice decided to enter the entertainment industry since he feels like it's his calling in life, then he became a TV actor and a comedian.

They arrived at Lea's vacation house in Tagaytay. 2 weeks ago, Gabbi has already planned to spend the long weekend here where they can breathe and be away from stress at least for a few days.

It just so happens that Lea also wanted to do the same thing, she invited Dawn, Vice, and Marjori, her older sister, and her 20-year-old second born.

They went inside and settled themselves in their own respective rooms, Lea will be sharing room with Gabbi, Vice will be with Dawn, and there is another room for Marjori and her son.

Gabbi brought their things, "thank you, 'nak."

Lea sat on the bed while Gabbi laid down, "you feel tired? Wanna get some rest?" She pulled her legs into a cross-legged position facing her daughter.

"Hindi naman, ma. I'm thinking na I could spend the rest of the weekend just talking about anything in this room with you." She plastered a genuine smile.

"I couldn't thank God enough for giving me a daughter like you."

"Sus, hapon na hapon po, nand'yan pa po ang araw, ang drama na natin dalawa, ma." She joked because her mother is already at the verge of crying but deep inside she was really touched.

Lea laughed. She was about to tickle Gabbi, "kayong dalawa!" Vice barged in.

"Thanks! You just saved me from mom, uncle." Gabbi stood up beside her mom and placed her arm on her shoulders.

"What brings you here?" Lea asked.

"You invited me, remember?" He countered back that made Lea roll her eyes. "Tara na sa labas, naghanda na ng miryenda si Dawn. Sina ate Marj at Lorenzo ay natutulog."

They are gathered around a table in the lanai area.

"Dawn, sinadya mo ba 'to?" Her eyebrows almost met each other.

"Huh?"

Vice interrupted, "nakalimutan mo bang 'yan ang favorite na niluluto sa kanya ng T-O-W-B-M niya."

Her eyes widened, "gosh! Sorry, I forgot but it was unintentional, I swear!" She raised her right hand.

"Tatay ko po ba 'yang pinag-uusapan niyo? What does T-O-W-B-M stands for?" Clueless Gabbi joined the conversation.

Lea startled, "ah...that means..."

"The one who birthed me." Vice brought up another meaning, thankfully, "ang lola mo ang pinag-uusapan namin, eh hindi ba hindi sila masyado okay ni tita ngayon." He forced a smile.

He pinched Dawn's hand secretly, "ah... oo, tama."

Although unconvinced, "okay po. Let's eat na."

Lea threw Vice a dagger look because he was not being careful with his words.

Gabbi was seated in between Vice and Dawn while Lea is in the opposite side.

"Can I ask questions?" The teenager smiled shyly, "tutal kayo naman ang magkakasama since then."

"Fire!" Vice then swallowed a spoonful of mac n' cheese.

Gabbi wiped her lips with the table napkin, "where exactly is my dad?"
