"It was a pleasure meeting you, Mrs. Badenhorst." I bid what I felt like could potentially be my future-mother-in-law with a jolly smile.
"The same here, darling." Her smile isn't all too joyful but I figure she's exhausted.
She waves us off as we enter Keanu's car. Would you rather I take you back to the hostel or we book a nice room at a lovey hotel and live while the night is still young?" Keanu asks as he roars the car to life.
"I should really get back to the hostel. I have a Physics test coming up and the last thing I need is an ass-whipping from a test with all the stress." I say and he chuckles.
"Come on, Letta. The night is still young and so are we." He whines and I snort. "Did you just quote a lyric from Nicki Minaj's song?" He grins at me with a nod and I giggle.
"You're ridiculous." I chuckle and he smiles softly. "But seriously though, let's head out and not let this beautiful night end so soon." He says and looks me in the eyes when we stop by a red light.
His ever so beautiful icy blues cause flutters in my stomach and I find myself giving in with a sigh. "You know what, fine. It's been a beautiful night that shouldn't have to end so soon." I say and he grins. I lean in and give him a peck on the lips before the light turns green.
We head on to a very fancy, very beautiful five star hotel. I didn't really care enough to catch the name.
As soon as we entered the hotel we headed straight to the receptionist.
"Welcome to Lavita hotel. How can I help you...two?" She eyes us a bit warily. She was a pale brunette that seemed to be in her mid twenties. Pretty.
"Uhm, my girlfriend and I would like to book a room." Keanu took my hand in his and I smiled confidently at the woman who's name tag read Clarissa.
"Oh..." She raises her eyebrows in surprise. "Dis ń nuwe een. (That's a new one.) Okay, will a one bed room do? There aren't many multiple bed rooms available at the time as it's one of our busiest times." She offers a dull smile.
"Dit wil perfek wees. (That'll be perfect.)" Keanu said and she nodded her head and booked us in. "How many nights?" She raised her dark, well arched eyebrow.
"One." He handed the her his credit. She checked us in and handed Keanu a key card.
Keanu intertwined our fingers and lead us to the elevator where there was an old woman inside. She had a sour frown when we entered the elevator so I assumed she wasn't haven't the best of days.
"Evening." I said in a low voice and she returned the greeting with a scowl. "Is sy met jy?( Is she with you?)" She questions Keanu.
"Yes, she's my girlfriend." He kisses my cheek and the woman practically sneers. "Is jy mal? Wat sê jou ouers hieroor?( Are you crazy? What do your parents say about this?)" She questioned with a hard glare.
I frowned deeply at her attitude towards our relationship. "Ek gee om nie oor wat hulle sê nie. (I don't care about what they say.)" He shrugs and the woman's frown only deepens if possible.
The elevator pings and the heavy tension this woman has created leaves with her as she exits. "Jy hoort nie hier met ons nie. (You don't belong here with us.)" She spsaks to me but takes that I don't understand the language.
