Darkness surrounds me. I can't tell where I am, it's just a dark neverending field. It's burnt though.

The darkness dissipates a little and it's almost like it's three a.m. in the morning. It's still dark but I can at least see my surroundings. A cold breeze passes by me making me shiver violently.

Looking down at the freezing burnt grass, I see my barefeet. Furrowing my eyebrows in confusion I look around me, seeing nothing but an endless burnt out field.

I breathe out and I can see my water vapour in the cold air.

Snap!

Echoes the sound of a dead branch being snapped or stepped on.

"Ke mang o?(Who is that?)" I yell out but no one come to avail. I round myself looking for the culprit until I turn back to my beginning position, only to find a mirror standing in front of me.

The mirror has a black wooden frame around it and is dirty but I can still see my reflection, clearly.

I stare at reflection and my reflection stares back at me. My reflection then starts to smirk smugly.

I narrow my eyes at her. "Where am I?" I ask my reflection and she starts laughing hysterically.

I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. "Mo lehung la hau. (At your death.)" She says and continues laughing.

"Not possible. Why would I tell myself I'm at my own death? And why are you laughing?" I yell out of agitation and she only laughs harder.

She then abruptly stops and within seconds she's in my face. So close it scares me but I don't flinch away. So close I can feel her ice cold breath on my lips. So close we're almost touching.

"Because I'm going to bring you to your death, Rethabile." She hisses and starts laughing psychotically once again.

"I'm not Rethabile." I firmly state and she stops laughing. She's dead serious now.

"Ke wena, that must die. (It's you,...)" I say and squeeze the piece of sharp mirror that is now in my hand.

She smirks and I dive the sharp edge into her abdomen but at the same time feel a sharp pain in my abdomen.

I look down to see that she's also stabbed me. "Rethabile, you will die, like you were supposed to die at birth." She tells me and then pushes me into the freezing cold water that has suddenly appeared behind me.

"O robale hanhle, sesi. (Rest well, sister.)" She waves as my body is being eaten up by the chilly water.

The water soon consumes me but I don't panic. The water soon warms up to me and I become one with it until hands start to pull me deeper which rises my panic and the water becomes freezing again...

And I drown...

"Lethabile." I jolt up from the heavy slumber covered is ice cold sweat, heaving painfully.

Breathing feels impossible and soon a cough consumes me. After a few more coughs I finally catch my breath and look around me.
