There were some voices. Distant and jolly.
Then, something cold was poured on me.
I gasped as my senses came back. I immediately sat up, and bumped heads with someone.
"Ouch!" Came Ikuto's voice.
"Gomen," I said, rubbing my head.
"Daijoubu?" A man who looked like Tadase asked.
"H-hai... Matte, are you the superintendent?" I asked.
He smiled. "Hai."
I stood up and bowed. "Ano... I forgot to tell you my thanks. I really... Well... I've always wanted to come here to Japan, and you've let me experience this culture."
"Doitashimashite." He said.
Then, he grew very serious. "But, we have to discuss something." And then he smiled. Was this guy bipolar or something?
"Would you like to join the Guardians?"
I blinked a few times. "Me, join the student council?" I asked. "But... My grades aren't that stellar and I've caused quite a few problems already."
Nagihiko laughed. "Amu-chan has caused more problems than you have."
Ikuto and Yaya laughed. "And Amu's grades are probably worse than yours."
I smiled. "Alright, but all the spots are taken. The King, the Queen, the Ace, the Jack, and the Joker. What could I possibly be?"
They all thought for a moment.
"Clubs?"
"Spades?"
"Hearts?"
"Diamonds?"
"Numbers?"
The ideas floated across the room. And all I could think was... Why cards?
"Mataku mou." Ikuto said. "The Trump Card. Trump Card."
Another pause.
"Yeah!" They cheered.
"We'll make the announcement tomorrow." The superintendent said. "But, we have a problem even more devastating."
Why devastating? I thought.
"We have a new enemy." He said, being serious once more. "And they are not looking for any Embryo or locket or key. They are looking for a girl with four eggs."
Amu and I looked to each other. "Which one?" We asked.
"They said the one with all the chosen traits." He answered. "They sent me a warning in a letter with magazine letters for sentences."
I pondered over it. Chosen traits? What the heck it's like they've purposely done this to either one of us.
"They're scientists." The superintendent finished. "They don't believe in anything except for cold science. They think the world is an experiment with the test subjects waiting for them. They told me that the name of the project is called, 'The Dark Side.'"
"For scientists that are suppose to be smart," Rima started. "They really are stupid. Who gives out their plan of action to the enemies?!"
Superintendent laughed. "Hai, hai, that's enough action for one day. And, minna, be sure to study for the test sensei is going to give you."
"Hai." We all said.
I did a double take. "Matte yo... Test?!"
***
I grumbled as I held opened the text book.
Test? On a Tuesday? That's crazy!
I looked at the first question. "What is the name of Japan's capital?" I read aloud.
I suddenly had a brain fart. "Umm..."
"Tokyo, deshou?" An annoyed voice said.
I cocked my head to the side, blushing. "Ikuto-san, Doushite koko ni?"
"I just came back from my trip in France, so... I didn't want to go home. Amu wouldn't let me stay at her home... And I figured I could stay here."
I took a deep breath, and pushed my chair a safe distance from him. If I stayed any closer, a) my nose would start to bleed or b) I might faint.
"And what makes you think it's okay for you to stay here? I just met you." I said. "And where you going to sleep? On the couch? On the floor?"
"On the bed." He answered.
"Umm, I think not. I sleep there."
"Then, we can share. That's what I did with Amu." He said, like it was the most normal thing in the world.
I stood up, and headed for the small kitchen.
So, basically, this was my apartment. Kitchenette, which was behind a couch, table, and TV, which I called the living room, in the door to the left of the living room was the bathroom, and next to the bathroom was my room.
I grabbed a (fruit) and took a bite into it. This was going to be a long night.

"Oi," a voice called.
"__________-chan!" A tiny voice called.
"Not now." I muttered, trying to turn over.
"I'll throw the ice water on you again."
I opened my eyes. "What time is it?" I asked, yawning.
"Umm... I believe it's nearly eight." Chizuru said with a smile.
"Oh, (censored)!" I yelled. "I'm late!"
I shoved what I thought was all my homework into my bag, showered, put on my uniform, and ran for school. Yup, on an empty stomach.
"Matte!" Ikuto cried.
"I'm late!" I yelled at him, running.
Chizuru caught up with me. "Hai, breakfast." She dropped a piece of bread into my mouth.
"Thanks." I said though my full mouth.
Once inside the classroom, I dropped my bag, and sat down on my chair.
"Ohayo, ____________chan." Amu said.
"Iya. It's not a good morning." I said. "I woke up late, I had a stray cat visit my house, and I'm not prepared for the history test." I answered.
"Me niether!" Amu said. "I'm not prepared for this test!"
I sighed. "Nothing was in my brain last night. I even forgot the name of Japan's capital!"
My demeanor changed. Wait, what?!
"The capital of Japan is Tokyo. Tokyo is a crowded city....." And I went on and on about the history and geography of Japan.
"A-Ano..." Amu said, confused also. "Do you have to spout all those facts? I thought you said you weren't prepared."
"I... I wasn't!" I cried.
The bell rang, and the teacher came in. "Hai, minna. We'll be taking the test after this lesson."
I looked to Amu. "I can study." I whispered, she nodded.
I reached into my bag, and it wasn't there.
"Ara?" I cried, digging through my bag.
"Forgetting this?" Ikuto said, holding a book in front of my face.
My eyes opened wide. "Ikuto!" I cried, and so did Amu.
"Ikuto-kun," sensei said dangerously. "You're tress passing on school grounds. You better leave before I call the superintendent."
Ikuto' eyes filled with genuine fear and disgust. "I'm outta here."
(Time Skip!)
I sat a my desk, probably squeezing the life out of my pencil.
I was still on #5 out of 24 and the essay portion.
"Ten more minutes." The sensei said.
'It's letter B, you know, __________-san. Come on, remember! It was that small paragraph at the end of page 72.' A small voice inside of my head said.
Curiously, I looked at Chizuru, who was playing with my hamburger take-able eraser.
"Chotto, Chi-chan, did you say something?" I said above a whisper.
Chizuru looked up, "Iya, I didn't say anything."
I shrugged and circled the letter B.
Then, my demeanor changed again. I lightning speeded though the test, and yelled, "Finished!"
Everyone looked at me (except for Amu, Rima, and Tadase), their eyes filled with hate and disgust. I suddenly remembered the events of yesterday, and sat down.
The sensei came up to me, and took my paper. "It's another egg I can sense." He whispered to me, before walking away.
Wait... How did he know about my eggs?!
(Times skip to after test)
"Hai, ________-san." The sensei said. "A perfect score."
I looked at my a paper. Chizuru looked down at the paper.
"Ano, sensei, are you sure you did the grading right?" Chizuru asked.
"Of course he did!" A voice cried.
The (f/c) egg with educational signs all over it popped out of my pocket. It shook before it hatched, and a girl with short jet black hair, a headband with a multiplication sign on it, a sailor uniform with a short, gray skirt, gray flats, and warm, all knowing brown eyes, appeared.
"Konnichiwa," she said, bowing. "Atashi, Setsuna-~desu. Yoroshiku onegai shimasu."
"Another one!" I cried, taking a quick step back.
"Ah... So I see, that's why your grade is perfect." Sensei teased. "You used a Shugo Chara. Well, let me draw a big fat zero on you paper for cheating."
"Iya da, sensei." Setsuna said. "Honto ni gomen! I'll never cheat again! Please don't put a zero on __________-san's paper!"
Sensei laughed. "I'm joking. Alright. I'll make the same deal with you as I did with Himamori-san. No Chara Changes in my classroom. Understood?"
"Hai!" The three of us said.
"Good, now go to assembly!"
***
"Attention, minna-san!" Tadase said. "Today, we are accepting a new member of the student council."
"It's a new job for the Guardians, so please bear with us!" Nagihiko said.
"It's called the Trump Card, cool name, huh?!" Yaya said.
"We're pleased to announce that ____________ has the spot." Rima said.
Everyone glared at me. I had no courage to stand.
"Go!" Chizuru and Setsuna said.
"I can't!" I whispered, "Everyone hates me."
"Go!" Chizuru said, using the Chara Change on me.
I stood up proudly, a cool, calm face on me, even though I was screaming inside.
I walked up, and Tadase draped a Guardian cape over my shoulder.
"Officially a Guardian." Amu said.
I smiled, and then the door fell to the floor, Cosplaying Ikuto flew through the door, landing on the floor with a crack.
A girl with a !-Egg hovering near her laughed macanically. "All boys must die!" She yelled.
Yup, another cliff hanger! Sorry! Don't hate me! So, please, vote and comment!
