Chapter 8 - Dixie

Why did I do that? God I can be so stupid sometimes. I mean, I really fucked up this time. I kissed Addison and now she probably hates me. Don't get me wrong, the kiss was great, but she's my bestfriend. I can't believe I let my emotions get the best of me again, it's all my fault.

I couldn't bring myself to open my eyes. I wanted to savor the previous events before it all went to shit. In this moment I had no idea if Addison was mad or not. I could pretend that all was well and that my feelings were reciprocated, that this was normal.

  As soon as I opened my eyes I saw something I would've never expected. Addison looked... happy? The older girl was out of breath, her lips were slightly swollen, cheeks red. It was definitely a sight to see.

  I have no idea what's happening but I can't say I'm mad about it. The kiss was everything I could've imagined it to be and more. Nothing could ruin it and Dixie loved that. She felt a feeling of pure joy. All of her previous emotions had melted away in an instant. Addison seemed to be Dixie's universal antidote for everything.

  "I love you."

  She meant it, she loved Addison with everything in her. Addison was Dixie's person and she didn't mind that. She wasn't sure what the older girl was gonna say in response to her but she just needed to make sure that Addison knew.

  "I love you too."

  The two girls didn't say anything after that. They were happy with the outcome of the kiss. So they sat there, staring into eachother's eyes. Dixie finally felt complete, before she felt something was missing, but she wasn't sure as to what. Now she knew.

  Addison rested her head on Dixie's shoulder, she hugged the raven haired girl close to her body and breathed in her scent. It might've seemed creepy to others but it was endearing to Dixie. It showed her that the kiss was not a mistake, that Addison had felt something back towards her.

  Dixie stood up abruptly and pulled Addison up with her too. "I have no idea where we stand right now, but I need you to know that you are right for me. That no matter what I'll always be here for you. Addison, I've  had feelings for you for a while, and at first I buried them away but I'm not afraid anymore. I love you Addison, and I always will."

  By the end of Dixie's speech Addison's eyes were glossy and her bottom lip was quivering slightly. Addison had never seen Dixie so emotional and she prided herself slightly for bringing those emotions out of her. So Addison did the only thing that made sense to her in that moment. Addison kissed her, for the second time that day.

  This time both girls knew what they wanted. No one felt guilty for it either. It was right, it was just right. It was slow and sweet. Dixie held Addison's face lightly and smiled into the kiss. Who could've guessed that such a terrible day would turn into such a magical night?

  The two girls laid down the bed, still embraced in a tight hug. It was comforting being so close to one another
