A "Day off" part 2

*inside the Ramen shop, after the Hunters had gotten Brick to reluctantly buy a round of Spicy Ramen. Phoenix and Cayde were busy chowing down, so Brick and Jäger strike up a conversation*

BRICK

Well I guess this could've been worse, I'd probably be in a strike and getting killed and resurrected over and over...

*This is followed by a loud laugh coming from Phoenix as she comes up for air while eating her ramen. She then promptly went back to eating while Cayde snickered at her reaction*

JÄGER

Well, you are pretty new, so that's to be expected, you basically have a bright red target on your back. So have fun with that...

*he said this while giving Phoenix a swift kick to the shins under the table, causing her to grunt and glare at Jäger. Cayde swallowed his ramen and looked at the Titan*

Cayde

Look kid, you're new. So what? So you're going to be a target for a while. Deal with it. Learn from it. You'll be fine.

*And with that said, he went back to eating (or rather inhaling) his ramen. Brick looked at the Vanguard shocked while Jäger laughs at his Vanguard's attempt at cheering the poor Titan up*

JÄGER

What Cayde is TRYING to say, is that the treatment won't last forever, so you'll only have to burden that until another one comes along

*as Jäger said that he slurped up some of his ramen. He swallowed then continued* Hence the nicknames like "Blueberry" or "Greenie". It's what we call the new guardians. So don't worry, it's not gonna last forever, if anything, in a backwards sort of way at least, it'll help you in the long run. You've gotten better compared to when you first started right? *Brick nodded slowly* See? Like I said, you'll get better at it! It'll just suck for a while, that's all.

*as he finished his little speech, Phoenix rose up with ramen in her mouth swallowing until there was none left*

Phoenix

Be right back, Imma go get a refill, care to join me Cayde?

*Cayde responded by enthusiastically jumping out of his seat with his empty bowl and the two of them went to the counter for more ramen*

JÄGER

Have fun you two, I'm getting myself a drink, you want one Brick? *Jäger said as he got up, gesturing towards the bar* It might help calm your nerves.

Brick

Sure, why not... Hey, can I ask you something? *he pointed his thumb in the direction of the ramen counter, where Pheonix and Cayde seemed to be having a very animated conversation, about what Brick couldn't make out from across the room, but he could tell they were enjoying themselves* There something between them?

JÄGER

Oh... well, the thing is that Phoenix kinda has a thing for Cayde. Don't mention it to her in front of Cayde if you don't want to die several times today. Trust me, the last Titan that did that left the group, and won't even enter the tower if she's here.

BRICK

*Brick chuckled nervously* Huh, sooo Cayde doesn't know?

JÄGER

HA!No-

CAYDE

Cayde doesn't know what?

*As Brick and Jäger were talking, Cayde and Phoenix had joined them at the bar. Phoenix was deadpan glaring at both of them from behind Cayde, a dark blush dusting her checks*

JÄGER

Nothing that you need to worry about yet Cayde...

*Jäger said trying not to laugh at Phoenix's expression(death glare)* Anyways, what do you guys wanna do for the rest of the day?

CAYDE

Welllll we could- *Cayde was interrupted by a stern shout from the entrance of the bar*

ZAVALA

GUARDIANS!

*As Zavala said that, Brick jumped out of his chair, saluting towards his vanguard*

CAYDE

Well well well, judging by the tone of your voice, I guess you have something for them to do now! SOOOOOO I'm going to skedaddle so have fun with that- *As he tried to zipp out the door,Zavala grabs his cloak, "accidentally" choking the poor Exo*

ZAVALA

Oh no you don't, you're going with them. I have a mission for you three, and you're taking Cayde with you.

CAYDE

WAIT WHAT WHY!?

ZAVALA

So at least Phoenix and Jäger can keep an eye on you.

CAYDE

BUT-

PHOENIX

Hahaha come on Cayde, it'll be fun! *to Zavala* So? What do you need us to do?
