"Oi!" I yelled to my best friend Elizabeth trying to catch her on the way to her locker. "Hey, I was worried I wouldn't get you before lunch." I'm out of breath as I spin my combo, I pull out a juice box and an apple. We walk whispering jokes until we reach our dining hall. People stare as we walk past, and I don't blame them. Elizabeth is 5'5 and paper pale, she is slim without being boney and has bright blue eyes. Her auburn hair is chopped messily to her jawline, she looks like she could be from a magazine. I, on the other hand, could not. I'm too tall and too awkward, I stand a towering 5'7 and have fluffy blonde curls reaching my shoulder blades, my gray eyes are too big and my legs too long . We find a two corner seats next to the window and start making faces, eating our food. "I have an idea..." She finishes chewing and looks up from her cornbread, "go" she says and I start explaining, "I think we should start posting covers." Her eyes widen, "Oh my god. I've never thought about that." Elizabeth and I have a semi successful YouTube called Luna and Liz, we post mostly make up tutorials. The warning bell rings and we stand to throw away our trash, "We will talk all about this when we get home, yes?" I agree and we head our separate ways. I barely make it to English on time, and find myself doodling and drifting off while my teacher goes on about the importance of the colon and how it deserves more respect. I cannot stop thinking about finally telling Elizabeth I wanted to post covers... It's been a whisper in my mind for months... She plays the piano and I've always wanted to sing.
After two more painful classes I make my way to Granny's red car. She is not actually my grandmother mind you, but she is Elizabeth's. We tell her about our days and how relieved we are its finally Friday. Liz giggles when I talk about colons needing more respect. We pull into my driveway and both jump out, making our way to the kitchen. I put two full frozen pizzas in the oven and hop onto the counter. "So I've been thinking about this nonstop all day..." She nods sipping her lemonade, "I think it's worth a shot." She now looks at me and smiles, "what's the worst that could happen?" I think for a second then say truthfully, "we could get famous."
