Sooner than you think

We walk through the doors and a blast of freezing air hits us. I instinctively pull closer to Calum's warm body and I am pleasantly surprised when he pulls me into him. The rink is empty, it's nearly summer so I understand why, but we sit on the benches lining the ice and tie on our skates. "Give me a few minutes to warm up?" I ask him as I flick my eyes towards the ice. "Yeah, take as long as you need." He grins and I stand making my way to the slick blue floor.

I glide around the oval shaped rink at least ten times and I feel him watching my every graceful movement. I stop in front of him resting my elbows on the wall, leaning towards him and smiling. "Wanna join me Hood?" I ask, "I'm not so sure Ally...." He trails off looking to his skates then to me. "I'll hold your hand the whole time, you will be just fine you big baby." I smile as encouragingly as I can at him, and he stands. The second his first skate touches the ice he is on the floor. I try my best not to giggle but it bubbles from my lips and I can't hold it back. I glide over to him and help him up, I firmly hold one of his hands, and try not to laugh as the other gripped the wall. He held the wall so tight his hand started to turn white, he slipped a few times and we went painfully slow, but we made it successfully around once. "I need to sit," he panted and I still held his hand as we walked to the bench. Calum's cheeks were flushed and his breaths uneven, but he had done it, and he was so proud of himself. "I am the man," he smirked at me then wiggled his eyebrows. "Sure, you are rockstar, I'll let you believe that if you need me to," I say leaning into him slightly as I teased. "I like that, by the way," he said smiling down at me. "What exactly do you like?" I questioned him, "you called me rockstar, I liked that." He said seriously, "it's like you have the nerve to tease me, but the heart to not be mean about it." He smiled at me again then leaned closer to my face, my heart fluttered. Calum's lips met mine in the middle and he was soft and warm compared to the cold air surrounding us, I leaned into him and he rested his hand on my waist.

I pulled away out of breath at least 30 seconds later. We stayed snuggled into each other, "I'm freezing," he murmured. "Do you want to go? We've been here an hour, I'm ready when you are." I say into the corner of his neck. His legs face the ice and as I sat next to him he pulled both of my thin legs across his lap so my body faced the door, and I nuzzled my head into his neck. "I honestly don't want to move, cause that means you'd move, and who knows the next time we'll be this close again?" He almost whispered to me, "sooner than you think. If I have anything to do with it." I cheekily reply.
