"To believe in love, to be ready to give up anything for it, to risk sacrificing your life for it is the ultimate tragedy,"
-Leonardo Wilhelm Dicaprio

"Huh," Isabelle said. "You were right, Jace."
Jace scoffed. "Of course. When am I never right?"
Clary stared at Alec's precarious position, worried that a gust of wind would send him plummeting two stories below.
"C'mon, get off there," Jace muttered, walking towards Alec.
Alec sighed in defeat before swinging both legs back into the room. He got up and deposited himself on his bed, his face telling them that he was clearly not pleased.
"Sometimes, I don't like you, Jace," Alec muttered.
"What were you planning to do? Jump two stories and plummet to you death so your soul can walk undetected into the Silent City?" Jace said, shutting Alec's door behind him. "I'd like to point out a little flaw in your plan, if I may. Dead people can't help their boyfriends."
Alec scowled at Jace-almost the same unpleasant scowl Alec had given Clary two years ago when she had stumbled and crashed gracefully into their lives.
"You also forgot one more thing. With a brother and sister like us and a stubborn friend like Clary, your plans usually are never solo." Isabelle said, sitting on Alec's bed with a sigh. "What the heck were you thinking?"
"I was thinking...of seeing Magnus." Alec said eventually, sighing a little in the end.
"In the Silent City?" Clary said, speaking for the first time in the room. She moved to stand at the foot of Alec's bed, her face twisted in confusion. Didn't he know that the prisoners of the Silent City couldn't be visited unless under official Clave business? Or had the Silent Brothers allowed curfew hours where lovesick lovers could reunite?
"Jace said that maybe, if the Clave was desperate enough, I could speak to Magnus and try to clear things up." Alec sighed, looking dejected. "Obviously, that plan just took a one way trip to Edom." Alec shot them annoyed glares.
"I never said anything really about not letting that plan carry through." Jace said, grabbing a seraph blade that was lying on Alec's bed. He handed it to Clary who hesitated slightly before taking it and slipping the angel blade into her weapons belt.
Alec arched an eyebrow. "What are you saying, actually? And please keep to the one way street. Your detours confuse me and quite frankly give me whiplash."
"Sure, you can sneak out of the Institute, against Maryse's orders and try and get into the the Silent City but you're going to have three extra baggage tagging along," Jace said shrugging with a lazy smile flitting across his face.
Alec's face brightened slightly. "What about Simon?"
"He's sort of keeping the mama bears at bay. Playing the oh-so-curious, clueless boy who asks way too many questions." Isabelle grinned. Clary could imagine Simon keeping Jocelyn busy with questions like how he always had when they were kids. Jocelyn had always been patient and had answered his childish questions though she ended up letting Luke take over.
Clary wondered now how was Simon keeping Maryse busy.
"I don't think he's acting, Izzy." Jace said, earning him two smacks on the chest--one from Clary and the other from Izzy.
"Well, let's go then." Alec leapt to his feet, making Jace smile at his impatience. Alec didn't seem to notice. "How are we going to get out? This place is surrounded by the Conclave."
