First things first, I didn't want to be related to a goddess. Well, we aren't even technically blood related, we are only related through marriage. You might think that being related to a goddess is amazing. You have more power or whatever. Yeah, well it's not all it's cracked up to be. The goddess I am related to, doesn't even pay attention to my family or even their own immediate family. I guess I should probably tell you who I am related to, right? Fine, I'll tell you.

The goddess's name is Annabeth Chase.

Now to how we are related. My dad's sister Helen married a man named Frederick. They had twins, who are my cousins. Frederick already had a daughter with someone else before marrying my aunt. His daughter's name is Annabeth, and we are the same age.

I had never met Annabeth in my life before, because she ran away when she was little so we never saw her then. Then she went off to college somewhere. After that she moved to New York. At least that's what Uncle Frederick told us.

Before I tell you my story, I just want to let you know that I didn't know what my step-cousin looked like, okay? So don't judge me when you hear what happened.

We had recently learned that there were gods and goddesses that have been around for the past 30 centuries and we didn't even know. We had also just learned about the great demigods of the ages, and apparently they were all around the age I am, which is 21.

When I learned about the gods, I decided that I should go to my favorite book store ever. I was good friends with the owner, so I knew he would listen to me about anything I had to say about the gods.

As I walked up to the door of the hidden little bookstore, I noticed that there was a girl inside that I had never seen here before. This was strange because the bookstore was very small and hidden away, so I knew everyone that came into the store.

The woman had curly blonde hair, but her back was toward me so I couldn't see her face. When I opened the door, she quickly looked at me and then just as quick, turned back to the store owner, who she had been talking to.

"Bye Malcolm. See you soon. Love you." She said quickly. I looked after her as she ran out the back door. From when I had seen her, she was beautiful. Her voice was too.

"Ahm." I heard from behind me. I turned to find Malcolm giving me a playful glare. I thought back to what the girl had said and realized that she had told Malcolm she loved him. My cheeks turned bright red.

"I'm sorry. Was that your wife?" I managed to say. A look came across his face that I couldn't quite describe. It looked like a mix between disgust, amusement, and horror.

"No!" He exclaimed. "That's my sister!" If it was possible I blushed an even brighter red. I was so embarrassed. At least I wasn't pegging after a married woman. After we were both done blushing, he asked me, "So, what brings you to my humble abode?" After I gave him a questioning glance I answered him.

"You know how we just learned about the gods?" As I asked him this a look of panic crossed his face. He opened his mouth to respond, but before he could I continued, "You know how we also just learned about the great demigods of the ages?" This time I allowed him to answer me.

"Yeah, I know what you're talking about. Why are you asking?"

"Well, something else I heard was that the great demigods are going to become the new Olympians. Another thing I found out was that they are letting a certain amount of mortals go to the ceremony. How cool would it be if we would be able to go! The only problem is that you have to get a ticket to go." After I finished he gave me a little smirk and walked into the back of the bookstore.
