Chapter 7

Hi everyone. Sorry for the long delay for this chapter. I'm going to try and update regularly again over the next few months and perhaps try and write 2 chapters a month to catch up with the story a little bit. This chapter is kind of short and a little slow in terms of the story as it's right before the amusement park episode so not much happens. Thank you all for reading~

The next day everyone had finished recovering from the exwire exam and I was surprised at how none of the instructors had mentioned me using my scythe during said exam. I met Rin in our cram school classroom and he told me about how Mr Neuhaus had attacked Yukio and him the night before but they only received minor injuries. "what happened to Mr Neuhaus?" I asked worried that he may try and attack the twins again.
"He just walked away...I haven't seen him since..." Rin said, seeming to be lost in though
"I'm sure everything will be fine Rin. Try not to worry about it too much" I smiled, attempting to cheer him up a little.
Everyone in the class was extremely nervous about our exam results as we talked amongst ourselves until Mephisto walked into the classroom and stood at the front. We all stood up and crowded together awaiting our results, thinking it would be quite a formal occasion with certificates being handed out to those who passed.
"Ein, Zwei, Drei!" Mephisto said enthusiastically "congratulations on passing the exam, you've all been promoted to become exwires!"
We all cheered in response, happy with out results and that we were now progressing onto our exwire training in preparation to become exwires. Mephisto chuckled at our cheering "and to celebrate, I'm treating you all to a feast" we all hummed wondering what kind of meal we were going to have "who's hungry for monja~?" he asked licking his lips slightly.
We were all kinda surprised at the simplicity of his choice of food "Whaaaat!" we all sighed in response. "Barbeque is way better" Rin said as a small attempt to try and change the directors mind. Next thing we knew we were at a Monja and shaved ice place on top of a building in the city somewhere. It was a pretty peaceful area, with the sound of cicadas filling the air as well as a welcoming soft breeze flowing on this particularly humid day, especially as we cooked the monja. Some of us handed out plates while the others cooked and I watched Rin stir the monja while he talked to Shiemi about her deciding to become an exorcist. I looked over the seating opposite me to see Yukio and sir Pheles talking and wondered what kind of official exorcist business they could possibly be discussing. Shima shouted of to Yukio asking if he wanted some ramune to which he replied with a formal "Yes please, thank you". Yukio joined us and after Suguro said "it looks like its done" Mephisto came rushing over.

The next day was the start of the weekend so I started my homework in the afternoon after I picked up some water from the nearest convenience store, where I also ran into Rin who appeared to be buying ice pops. The homework I focused on the most was the cram school homework we received about demonic species. It was our first homework looking at slightly more advanced material due to us becoming exwires. Truth be told I was procrastinating slightly, putting of the normal academy homework as it was pretty boring compared to the cram school homework. However, I knew I couldn't avoid the tedious normal subject homework and got started on it, sighing at the few subjects that I received homework off during the week. I honestly rushed through the questions for each subject, wanting to finish the task as quickly as possible. I realised I now had the rest of the day to do whatever I wanted so I decided to draw a little bit. I drew a few little coal tars and goblins on a blank page in my sketchbook and by the time I was finished I found that it had become dark outside. "wow, guess I become pretty invested in those drawings" I smiled to myself as I got ready for bed. Despite the time I called Rin to see how he was and he told me about how he had a new familiar called Kuro, cat sidhe who was Shiro's familiar. I congratulated him and said I'd seen him tomorrow at cram school. I hung up the phone and sighed "I can't believe that we have our first exwire mission tomorrow, I guess it's on a Sunday so that we'll all be slightly more awake" I said. I remembered the mission was at a amusement park in the city and looked out of my window, spotting it in the distance. "I wonder what the mission involves if its at an amusement park?" I said, whilst thinking about the possible demons we could encounter until I fell asleep.
