Chapter Two

Our flight just landed in LA.
"Charli wakeup we're here"
I look over to see Dixie smiling and shaking me awake. We got off of the plane and went to get our luggage. Neither one of us said anything which was weird because we are always talking.
"Who's picking us up?" I asked Dixie
"Thomas is supposed to."
I thought about what the fans would think when they saw us back at the hype house. Dixie must have noticed I was upset because she gave my shoulder a reassuring squeeze and told me things would work out just fine. We walked out of the airport doors and waited for Thomas. After about 5 minutes I see his car pull in. My stomach tightens and I feel sick. Dixie looked at me and said "Charli, breathe everything is okay. They are family to us." I nodded. I knew she was right but, I didn't know what was happening. It felt like I was in a dream. "Hey! Get in! Lets go!" I looked and saw Thomas with his big grin. I sat in the front and Dixie took the back. "Welcome back! We missed you". We sat in silence the whole 45 minute drive to the house. As we got closer my stomach tightened more and more. I looked down and I think I fell asleep, because the next time I woke up I was staring at the Hype House. "C'mon let's get ya'll settled in" Thomas took my bag and walked to the front door. Dixie took my shaking hand and guided me to the door. As soon as I walked in I forgot how safe I feel there. With all of my friends around me. Several of the members greeted me with hugs. I looked around for Chase but, couldn't see or hear him anywhere. "He's with Tony at the store. He'll be back later" said Nick. Was I being that obvious that I missed Chase? Dixie and I walked up the stairs to our old room. The makeup vanity and light strips on the wall were still the same. I could still smell my perfume from the day I left. The room looked as if we never left. We spent the first few hours unpacking and talking to our friends. Kouvr and Addison helped us clean up our room and put up our ringlights and TikTok setups. I missed the company of the girls and the guys. This place just felt like home. As soon as I was starting to get comfortable I heard the door open and slam shut. "Chasie! You're back!" I heard Nick yell. "Hey guys what's up" His voice..it was still the same but sounded so much different. I missed it.
"Is she here yet" Chase said kind of loudly
"Yea she's up in her room right now"
Dixie gave me a thumbs up and walked out of the room. I heard light footsteps coming up the stairs. The doorknob shook and the door slowly creaked open. Chase walked in. He stood there with a smirk on his face.
