I drove over to his house and could instantly hear some music playing. He lived in the okay part of town.
There are three parts of the town, nice, poor, and okay. Where you live depends on your status in school. Most of the popular kids are from the nice part of town and the unpopular kids were from the poor part of town. I lived on the bridge of the middle and poor.
I quickly changed into some of the new clothes that I got. Quickly, I put on a white v neck with a madras patterned flannel with blue and red on it. Then putting the blue jeans on. I almost forgot that I had my glasses on and decided to put them in the glove box. I knocked on the door and a drunken Bret opened the door. He had a beer bottle in his hand but I couldn't tell what brand it was.
"Oh HEY EVERYONE WALKER IS HERE," he tried to yell over the music. He patted my shoulder and motioned me inside. Using me as a support. "Man I guess you changed," he said taking a swing at his beer, "Not trying to sound gay but it looks good."
"Hey man, thanks," I replied, patting his shoulder.
I walked in and I could smell the beer and smoke and it was overwhelming. I walked through the living room and thought that I fit in with what I was wearing. I tried to move around to the back where no one would disturb me but Summer stopped me when she pulled me off to the side.
Now Summer is the hottest in our class I'd say. To add to her vague description from the fight, she has long straight blonde hair and was lean. She had the prettiest face and the beautiful sparkling blue eyes. She always was wild and I heard once that she's got in trouble twice with the police for drinking and one for vaping. She had on a long sleeve pink crop top and black leggings underneath. I guess we all fell for her even though rumor had it that she failed all of her classes but her parents paid for her to pass.
I was pretty sure that she had a boyfriend but when she stopped me I didn't see any boy coming for her to protect her. But everyone was attracted to her. Well, all the guys anyway.
"Oh if you're wondering I'm single again," she said softly.
I wasn't surprised that she broke up with Liam. She has been with almost every guy in the school, all except me.
"Um, cool," I said, rubbing the back of my head, not knowing what to do.
I managed to get away from her and I started to get light-headed from the smell of the smoke and beer. I almost got out the back door in the kitchen when Bret stopped me in his drunken state.
"Woah, Walker you should try some of this, it's brand new and I think you will like it," he said touching my shoulder.
Now, I didn't want to be considered a wimp, after all, I just got invited to a party. So I thought to myself, well, maybe one sip wouldn't hurt, "Um, yeah sure, I'll try it."
He grabbed a cold beer out of the fridge and cracked it open, "Here you go kid, that's the spirit!"
"Oh, Walker you're drinking one too?"
I turned to see Summer leaning on the door frame with a beer in her hand too.
Bret patted my shoulder and whispered, "Get her, she's obviously interested." And then he walked out of the room, leaving only Summer and me.
"Uh...yeah," and I took a sip.
Now, I only had one beer in my life and that was a Corona, but this stuff was amazing, and I could tell that at the end of the can I'd be drunk. I could feel myself getting lightheaded.
"You haven't had a real beer before," Summer said, walking towards me.
"No," I said, taking another sip, "I have, just not as strong as this stuff."
