I woke up and everything from last night came back to me. I knew that today I'd have to go to school and face all of these threats in person and see, out of curiosity, if Brett made it out of the car last night.
When I parked my car into the parking lot, Katlynn and Delilah came running up to me before I even got out of the car.
I rolled down the window and Katlynn looked astonished, "YOU HAVE A CAR!!!" she screamed. She immediately started to look around and touch the car muttering to herself about random stuff.
"She's a mechanic nerd," Delilah whispered to me from outside the window in a jokingly gesture, "Only Jazz and Maverick have cars. Jazz plays his weird music and Maverick is...well...Maverick."
"THIS THING COULD SEAT ALL OF US!!!" I turned my head to see that somehow she had gotten into the car.
"Okay, Katlyn-"
"Kat for short," she said enthusiastically, continually looking at the car.
"Okay KAT. I don't know how you got into the car but please don't break anything and we're good okay?"
"Okay," she said practically hopping in her seat.
She wedged herself into the shotgun seat and looked at the controls pressing the buttons like a little child. Well, she was the youngest looking member of the group and actually was. But still, she was amazed at the fact of how old it was. She opened the glove box and saw a cassette tape laid there.
"OH MY GOD IS THIS PURPLE RAIN?!"
She pushed it in and turned up the volume.
I ejected it, "Yeah, no, not right now. We'll put a rain check on it okay?"
"Deal," She said, putting out her hand to shake.
I managed to get her out of the car and walked away from it after locking it and getting out my bookbag. It was nice to have friends to walk up the school with, even if they were girls. I never really had friends to walk up with. I noticed Willow walking alone, only this time she had tight jeans on and a yellow long-sleeved shirt on.
"I'm going to say hi to Willow so I'll see you guys some time?"
"Okay," Delilah said holding up a peace sign with her fingers.
Kat just waved me towards Willow.
"Hey," I said out of breath when I got to her.
"Oh, hi Walker," She said looking at me, "How are you?"
"Good, last night definitely hurt me a lot on my back."
She chuckled a bit, "That's why you team up with someone when fights happen."
I walked into the school and saw the principal standing there almost seeming like he was judging who I was with. And that's when I remembered what he said about keeping an eye on me. I realized that he knew more about Willow than I did and I immediately got nervous.
I stuttered, "I have to go."
"Gosh really?" She said.
I turned to face her while walking backward towards my first-hour class, "I got to do some stuff."
And I ran to science class, not hearing her words to me.
That was one of my first scares from the principal. Heck, I was so scared that I didn't know his name. But I wasn't going to bother with that. I didn't want to know this guy on a personal level. I was just scared that he knew my name. And, I didn't want to get into more trouble with him and step into that office for a while.
