I have perfect pitch. A 'gift' which allows me to hear notes and be able to name them correctly. For me, it's easiest to recognise the tones if they're produced by a piano, because it's the instrument I'm most known with.
But it doesn't end there.
I can hear the note a door creaks. Or the tone in which some car horns honk and sonic planes pass over.
And the tinnitus. It's a super high G-note. Way higher than a piano can play. A violin just might be able to, though. But, I mostly compare it to a mix of tv-static and the sound an old (like, 90's) tv makes when you start it.
I also have Autism Spectrum Disorder. Some studies show that up to 30% of the people on the spectrum have PP, while only about 1/10.000 people worldwide have PP.
My ASD makes me more sensitive to stimuli than the average person. I don't have a filter in my processing. Mostly my hearing is affcected by this, so I spend a good amount of my time in sensory overload and distress because of it.
I firmly believe my PP is directly linked to my ASD, so not all symptoms I have are bad and in my way. Not really :)
