"the kind of boy who would never break a pinky swear." - butterflies rising
That described Tom perfectly. Blair and Tom were best friends from birth to high school and were inseparable. But when Blair moved, they lost all contact and never reconnect...

"Heyyyy Tommmm!" I slurred as I made my way across the house party. "Blair? Are you drunk?" Tom asked and grabbed my arms, steadying me. "Whaaat! Noooo!" I leaned in. "You're dead! Your parents are going to kill you!" Tom said. "I'm 16 now! I can do whatever I want!" I laughed. "No, come on, let's get you some water." Tom poured a huge glass of water for me and ordered me to drink all of it. "Thanks for taking care of me Thomas." I said and rested my hand on his jaw. "I'll always take care of you." He said and kissed my palm. "Promise?" "Promise." He said, and we shook our pinkies.
It was 2 weeks later and it was Daisy's engagement party today. The Holland's were invited too so we were going together. It was a white themed garden party at Daisy and Andreas' house so I got ready and put on a nice, summery outfit.

There was a knock at my door. "Come in!" I said in a hurry as I glued eyelashes on in my bathroom. "It's locked!" Tom shouted. "Oh for fuck-" I ran through with half an eyelash on, tilting my head back so it didn't fall off. I unlocked the door and opened it. "Sorry, I'll be ready in a minute." I groaned and clicked back into the bathroom with my nude heels that were slightly too thin and too tall. "You okay?" Tom asked and walked through to the bathroom. "The glue got in my eye." I huffed and blinked a ton. I applied liner over the glue marks and then a simple clear lip-gloss. I sprayed the waves in my hair with hairspray. I went into the kitchen and grabbed my clutch and threw the lip-gloss and perfume in. I finally looked back at Tom. He was leaning against the bathroom door frame with a smirk on his face and his hands in his pockets. "What?" I asked, finally stopping. He paused. "You look beautiful." He smiled. The butterflies in my stomach made my breath hitch. "Oh...thank you. You look great too." I said and bit my lip. He held his hand out and I took it. "Let's go." He smiled and escorted me out of my flat. I greeted everyone in the car and we drove to my sister's house. We got out and I held onto Tom's forearm for stability. The arm I gripped onto was in his pocket and he kept me stable. "Oh my god! Blair!" Daisy squealed as we walked in. "Hey Daisy!" I let go of Tom and hugged her tightly. Tom walked forward and gave Daisy a hug. "Congratulations." He said. "Thank you so much. I haven't seen you since that summer party!" Daisy said. "Yeah it feels like ages ago." Tom laughed. "So are you two...you know." Daisy not-so-whispered. "Oh, uh no!" I jumped in. "Ah...okay. Well, I'll talk to you in a sec, there's a lot of people!" She said. "Okay we'll leave you to your bridal duties." I said and gripped back onto Tom's forearm as we walked through the hallway to the kitchen. "Hi Mum!" I greeted my mother. "Blair! I haven't seen you in so long!" Mum said as I hugged her. "Work's been super busy." "Clearly, so has your personal life." Mum said. "What?" I asked. She referred to Tom. "Oh Mum no, this is Tom! You know Tom!" I said. "Oh! Thomas I didn't even recognise you! You've grown up quite a bit since I last saw you!" Mum laughed and brushed his bicep. "Mum-" I tried to stop her. "Well since Blair's arse of a father walked out and took all my money, I'm just so happy that my daughter is dating again!" She said. "What?" Tom asked and removed his arm. "Mum!" I whisper shouted. "What?" She asked innocently. "Dad walked out a year ago when I was still dating the Issac! The doctor? And Dad did not take all of your money, you won custody of everything and you demanded he payed you £400,000!" I said. "It would have been £500,000 if I-" "Mum, please." I rested a hand on hers. "Sorry darling. Well at least you're dating!" She said and walked off. Someone walked by with a tray of champagne flutes. I snatched one and drank half of it. "I'm sorry about her." I said to Tom. "You didn't tell me about your dad!" Tom said through his teeth. "He's not worth mentioning." I said and continued walking through the house until we got outside to the large garden. How two PE teachers can afford this, I'll never know. "I don't care! You should have told me!" Tom said and took a beer from another tray. "Why? Listen, he walked out to be with some 20 year old! That's not worth any breath explaining." I said and sipped the champagne. "Still...I thought you had told me everything." "I'm sorry, I should have told you. We can talk about it later though." I said. He nodded.
"Oh Marco and Pauline! You have to meet Blair," Mum came up behind Tom and I, nearly scaring the crap out of us. "Blair, this is Marco and Pauline, Andreas' parents." Mum introduced us. I shook their hands. "Hi, it's so nice to meet you." I smiled. They nodded. "And this is Blair's boyfriend, Tom." Mum said. Tom and I exchanged a look of panic before he shook their hands. "Yes...that's me." He smiled and looked back at me wide-eyed. "Lovely to meet you." Pauline said in a very strong Italian accent. "They don't speak English well." Mum said and then escorted them off somewhere else. "Well...I guess we're boyfriend and girlfriend." "I guess so." I said.
Everyone had been fed and were enjoying chatting and the champagne and Daisy and Andreas stood up and started talking. "Thank you all for coming, it means so much to us. And I wanted to officially announce that my maid of honour is my baby sister Blair!" She motioned me to come out. I got off my seat and walked over to her side. Wow there was a lot of people. "She's now my wedding planner and will be at my beckon call 24/7." Daisy joked which gained a laugh from the literal crowd. "I'm sure Tom won't like that but too bad!" Daisy laughed. Tom and I laughed it off awkwardly. We both knew she was drunk so we knew that something was going to come up. "But I just wanted to thank everyone for coming and being so supportive! The wedding invitations are being sent today! So expect one soon! I love you all, enjoy the party!" She lifted her glass and we all cheers-ed and then it went back to normal. Tom rushed up. "Daisy! You know Tom and I aren't dating!" I said. "It sure seems like it!" She slurred. I turned to Andreas, "I'm so sorry." I laughed. "It's fine, don't worry." He laughed and helped her out. "Could this situation get any worse?" I asked. I held my arms out for a hug and he dipped his arms to my waist to hug me. "You're tipsy aren't you." Tom said. "Psh, I've only had...7 glasses." I said. "Tom, Blair! We didn't know you two were together!" My Grandparents came up to us. Fuck. "Oh yeah, well, that's because..." My train of thought went a-wire and my drunkness came in. I stumbled back a bit but Tom put his hand on the small of my back and pushed me back up. "That's because we didn't want to publicise it. You know, with me being in the public eye." Tom said. I held back a grin and an eye roll. "Yeah no, Grandma, we're in love." I hiccuped slightly and rested my hand on Tom's chest. "Well, that's lovely! I'm so happy for you two!" "Thank you!" Tom and I said together. They left and we faced each other. "Oh god my grandparents think we're dating too!" I said. Hiccup. "You're drunk." Tom realised. "No," Hiccup. "I'm not!" Pause...hiccup. "I think we need to go home." Tom said. "Nuh-" Hiccup. "Uh!" I said. "Come on." Tom grabbed my waist and helped me walk through the garden, through the kitchen to find Dom. "Dad! Hey," He found Dom and brought him closer. "Blair is quite tipsy. She's going to have to go home. We'll just walk but I'm just letting you know." Tom said. We walked out saying minimal goodbyes and we walked home. "Heyyyyy! This isn't my house!" I slurred. "No, this is my house." Tom said. "But...you said home?" "This is your second home." Tom said. He was right about that. "Okay now, I'll get you your staying over clothes. Just stay here and pet Tessa." Tom said and rushed upstairs. I stumbled through the hallway to the living room and slumped on the couch. Tessa's tongue greeted me a few times before I felt myself drift off.
