My dad and I went back to the police station, so I could give my statement about what happened the last night when my birth father broke into my house and murdered my mom. It felt like it took forever to tell them. The image of my mom's dead body was still in my mind and seeing the man. The man who claimed to be my birth father, the fear hit me so hard as if he were still watching me.

"Are we all set here?" My dad asked Officer Brooks as soon as we got back to his desk.

"I would like to talk with you for a minute, sir," he replied, "Alone." I looked at him confused. My dad wasn't even there.

Why would he want to talk to my dad?

"Sure," My dad sighed, then kissed my forehead, "I'll be back in a minute." He whispered to me. I nodded, then watched as my dad and Officer Brooks walked a few feet away. I sat down in the chair next to Officer Brook's desk as I watched them talk. It was a little faint, but I could hear every word.

"So, you know we spoke on the phone last night about how the man claimed that Ariel's his daughter," He began, "And you gave me permission to do a DNA test on Ariel." My dad nodded. Officer Brooks looked down at the folder in his hand as he opened it, "We got the results in from the hospital this morning," His eyes shifted up to my dad, "But they also sent over a DNA test done about fifteen years ago on Ariel and an Adam Reed against your DNA."

"What?" He questioned, giving the officer a confused look.

"It confirmed that Adam is 99.9% biological your son, and that Ariel is 99.9% not biological related to you." He told my dad. He shook his head in disbelief.

"That- that doesn't make sense," My dad stuttered," Adam and Ariel are twins."

"Sir, I read the report from the doctor who did the test. He stated that Adam and Ariel are what they call 'bipaternal twins', which he explained is just a fancy word for a set of fraternal twins with two separate fathers." He explained. My dad kept shaking his head, "Ariel's father, his name is Nick Hunt."

"Nick Hunt?" My dad questioned, whipping his head towards the officer. He nodded confirming.

"Do you know someone with that name?" He asked. My dad quickly shook his head no.

"I- I gotta go." My dad announced, then quickly speed down the hall. I watched as he stormed over my way, his hands were turning into fits, his eyes narrowed, "Let's go." He said in a serious tone as he walked past me. I hesitated until he said, glancing back at me, "Now!" I quickly stood up and followed him out.

The drove back to the motel was silent. I kept feeling his eyes on me from time to time, which felt comfortable. It wasn't the normally kind and caring look he usually gave me.

Once we got back to the motel, we quickly went into our room. My dad slammed the door behind us, making me jump. I had never seen him like this before, and I have to be honest, it scared me a little.

"D-dad." I spoke as I watched him pace back and forth, "Are- are you okay?" His head whipped towards me.

"Do I look okay to you?" He growled. His eyes narrowed, glaring at me, "You little brat." My mouth opened. It had never called me a brat before, "What? Did I hurt your feelings? He asked rhetorically, then rolled his eyes turning away from me. I was in complete shock. His mood changed at once after Officer Brooks spoke to him. He became distance with me and angry.

"Why are you acting like this?" I wasn't sure what to ask him. He just ignored me. I slowly walked up behind him and reached up to his shoulder. My finger barely brushed it when he whipped around and smacked me. I fell onto the floor, and whipped my head at him, touching my now red cheek. He stormed over hovering above me. My body began shaking as I stared at him. His eyes were cold and dark look in them.

"This is your fault. You got my wife killed." He spoke, then grabbed me pulling me toward him, coming face to face with him. I could feel his hot breath on my face, "You're not my daughter. You're a stranger to me and I'm gonna make sure you never forget it." I wasn't sure what he meant.

Until he threw me on the bed...

"He raped me in that motel room." I told Kian in a whisper, tears running down my face at the painful memory, "And he was right. I never forgot, and I never told anyone."

"Not even Adam?" Kian questioned. I shook my head no, "Why? Why would you keep it a secret for so long?" I flickered my watery eyes over to him as I heavily sighed.

"He threated to kill me." Kian's eyes widen, then glanced back at the house as I continued whispering to myself, "Now I understand what my mom meant when she said she didn't cheat." Kian turned his attention back to me. Chills ran down into my spine as I said my birth father's name, "Nick Hunt, my birth father. He did the same thing to my mom, and she didn't tell anyone." I felt Kian wrap his arm around my shoulder. He moved closer to me as I rested my head on his shoulder.

"Ariel, I'm so sorry." Kian whispered. I picked my head off his shoulder, flickering my eyes up, seeing him staring at me with sorrow eyes.

Blue and red flashing lights caught the corner of our eyes, snapped us out of our gaze. We saw a police cruiser pull up. I took a deep breathe, then stood up with Kian. We walked toward the police officers as they got out of the cruiser.
