Lance x Sleep Deprived/Really Sad!Reader

One day at the Castle of Lions, Allura called all of the paladins to the bay, saying they had another mission, making them all groan except Shiro and (Y/n) who was almost falling asleep where she stood, her head falling forward before snapping back up with a start. This has been going on for a long time,  no one but Lance had noticed the girls sleep deprived state. He had noticed her normally (s/c) skin getting paler, bags and dark circles forming  under her eyes, her eyes puffy and swollen every morning. To be frank. He was worried about her.

"(Y/n!)"

(Y/n) jumped

"Y-Yes Allura?"

"You know what your doing correct?"

"Y-..Yeah. I believe so. Block off the exits while the team catches the bandits correct?"

"Yes. Finally your paying attention."

"Sorry."

She mumbled, looking down. Lance frowned slightly. He also noticed how she wasn't as perky as she was before. She was more quiet and in the background. Not in the spotlight, where she would make everyone laugh. No matter how hard of a day they've had. She would always go out of her way to make them smile. As she was never content with a fake one. She would keep going till they were real smiles. He missed that. He was mad that the team hadn't noticed these changes in her. To them they might be small, but to him, they were huge! They all went to their Lions. They flew to the place where the mission was. Then they all split up into teams of two. Shiro and Keith, Pidge and Hunk, then Lance and (Y/n). As the two teens flew around to the back, Lance noticed (Y/n)'s Lion slow down, then speed up again to catch up with him, they stopped at the stopping point.

"Lance! Are you in your position?"

Allura asked over the comms.

"U-uh. Just got there." He said, landing.

"Good. Everyone else?"

"Yup!"

They all said except (Y/n)

"(Y/n)?"

No answer

"(Y/n)."

Still no answer

"(Y/n)!!"

A small yelp was heard on her line and what sounded like her falling out of her chair. Before scrambling and a rushed voice saying "I-I c-copy!"

"You ok (Y-"

Before Lance could finish his sentence, he was cutoff by Allura

"(Y/n)! You need to stop being so irresponsible! If you don't I'm giving your Lion to someone more deserving!"

Allura yelled over the comms, making everyone go completely silent. They were shocked. They had never heard Allura sound so mad. Lance's eyes widened before his brows furrowed

"Allura-"

"What Lance?!"

She snapped

"Calm down. It's not her fault. She literally just joined the team. She's still getting used to everything. You can't just expect her to do everything perfect the first time"

"Well that's what I had to do on Altea so I don't see why she can't-"

She was cut off by the sound of (Y/n)'s comms shutting off, then her Lion flew away quickly

"(Y/n)!"

They all yelled, except Lance who flew right after her

"Lanc-" he muted his comms, cutting Allura off as he flew after (Y/n). He followed her to a earth like planet, her Lion landing a bit roughly, him landing a ways back. He ran out of his Lion and ran to where he saw (Y/n) land, and saw her yelling and throwing profanities, kicking the grass and trees before giving a loud wail and throwing her helmet, it bouncing off a tree and to his feet as she slid down a tree, tears streaming down her cheeks, pulling her knees to her chest, tangling her fingers into her (h/c) hair, shaking.

His heart broke at the sight, picking up her helmet, walking over and kneeling next to her, placing her helmet by his side before wrapping his arms around her, pulling her into his chest. She knew who it was, turning in his arms, sobbing into his chest. He bit his lip, pulling her close, burying his face into her hair.

"W-W-Why d-does She h-hate me s-s-so much?!" She wailed into his chest.

"I don't know..." he murmured softly, holding her tighter. He hated seeing her like this, so broken and sad.

They stayed like that for an hour, before she stood up.

"We should head back." She said, her voice slightly raspy. He nodded and stood up. She grabbed her helmet, she started walking back to her Lion befroe Lance grabbed her wrist, making her drop her helmet. She turned to look at him. He gently grabbed her chin, and pulled her close, kissing her. Her eyes widened. Processing what was happening before her eyes fluttered shut, wrapping her arms around his neck. He smiled, moving both arms to wrap around her waist. They pulled apart, gasping for air

"I hope that made you feel better. And give you good dreams to sleep peacefully too." He winked, making her laugh

"That will definitely help! But really. We should get back." He nodded and they ran to their Lions. They flew back to the CoL, where the team was waiting for them. They walked into the bay, Allura looking livid, making (Y/n) shrink back. Lance saw this making him frown. Allura started yelling at her, then Lance stepped in front of (Y/n), her grasping the back of his armor, Allura stepping back

"That's enough." He said, his voice dark as he gently pushed Allura away

"Lance. Step away."

"No! Don't you see how you've hurt her?! She's loosing hours upon hours of sleep training to make you happy, only to cry herself to sleep for maybe half an hour of sleep at most! She's killing her self to make you happy! She's skipping breakfast, lunch, and dinner almost everyday! Yet it's never enough for you! Nothing is good enough for you!"

He then turned his sight away from the shocked Allura to the team who was as shocked as her

"And you! I thought you were her friends! You should of seen when she was doing to her! Yet you turned a blind eye, only caring about yourselves! How did you not see her changing!? How did you not see her getting paler!? And skinnier! And how she wouldn't cheer us up after a hard day! How she started smiling less! When she was the one that made us all smile! When her smile was the reason we all smiled!"

Hunk was crying at this point, Pidge had her face buried in Hunk's side, to hide her tears, Keith looked down, biting his lip while Shiro sniffled. He looked at Allura again who has tears streaming down her face.

(Y/n) was shocked at how Lance had stepped in. He sighed, gently guiding (Y/n) out of the room, wrapping an around her waist. She leaned into his side

"Thank you for that Lance..."

"No need to thank me. I'd do anything for you (N/n)"

HIIIIIIIIIII. OH MY FOCKEN GOD. IM SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SORRY EVERYONE!!!!! NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE HOW SORRY I AM! I'm going to get as many requests done as possible tonight as a sorry.
