Chater 18: But you say you're just a friend

Weeks have passed by, Emma is doing pretty good and starting to remember a bit. Sadly someone isn't to happy about me spending time with her. Ugh, what I have to deal with.

The day came when she could finally leave he hospital for once. I took her to this beautiful park that was full of flowers and this waterfall.

We sat there eating our lunch, I wanted to make this day special for her so I set up a picnic. For the first time I saw her enjoying herself, she seemed much more happier because she wasn't trapped in a room for all this time. The weather was just right, sadly she missed so much school the teacher told me she would have to repeat the same grade over again.

Emma couldn't walk, she had to be in a wheel chair for a while until she could recover completely. she was playing with a little marble but it fell out of her hand and rolled away. "No!" She yelled all sad.

"Don't worry I'll get it" I said as I went after her.

I was able to catch the marble. I walked towards her when she stopped me.
"Jerome, just Stand there,"
"Umm ok"

She got up from her wheel chair. I panicked.

"Emma what are you doing?!"

"Calm down, I'm going to try and reach for you."

She slowly took a step forward, trying to balance herself as she walked towards me. I couldn't believe it, she was actually walking.

She reached me, but as soon as she did, she collapsed...

Emma's P.O.V

I walked up just to find Jerome holding my hand as I laid on the hospital bed. I woke him up, he had dried tears.
"Jerome wants wrong?"
He just looked at me and hugged me. I felt save in his arms, I smiled. it's been months since I woke up, that guy that was suppose to be my bf. Even tho I didn't know him, I broke up with him. I feel like Jerome and I had a thing, like we were more than just friends but I'm not sure. He's love made me feel much stronger everyday, I wanted to tell him how I felt but I just didn't know how to...

~*~ 2 weeks later c; cause I can!*
Jerome's P.O.V

Today I asked Emma if she wanted to go to a restaurant, the hospital
Said she was in good condition to leave the hospital for a bit. When I asked her she was happy and said yes.

I pushed her wheel chair as we walked to the restaurant, i wanted to eat outside in the beautiful clear dark skies.

We sat as the waiter took our orders.

Time skipped so fast, we ended up laughing about all the stupid and great we had together. I never really realized how beautiful her laugh and smile was. Her eyes sparkled in the moonlight, it made me happy in some type of way.

"Jerome?" She asked.

Emma's P.O.V

"Jerome?" I asked.

"Yes?" He asked

"I...I think...umm...well...I...JEROME I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU! All the things you've done for me, I just, thank you. You've made me see things and all the time we have spend together has been amazing. That's why I'm confessing my feelings for you..."

He said nothing, he was in shock.
"Emma...I...I didn't know you felt this way, I love you too. But not in the way you feel, I love you in a best friend way...I'm sorry but, I just don't feel the same way..."

My heart shattered as I felt tears rolling down. I wanted to go back to the hospital and forget what had just happened...I was rejected, my feelings for him were rejected...
