A few years later
Everything was in place. I now lived in a nice house with Blake, about twenty minutes from my mom. Every Sunday, we would eat lunch with both of our parents at the local diner. We both were finishing up our last year of college at UCLA. Some things were the same but some things were different. Looking down at my left hand now, there was an engagement ring on my finger. Wedding plans kept us busy most of the time. We both know that no matter what happens from here on out, we are both here to support each other. This year has been a long year but he has helped me through it. And that's how I know we are meant to be.
As we walked down the beach he, looks me in the eye. His eyes have that special twinkle in them that brings out the gorgeous blue. He kisses me on the forehead, his soft lips pressing against my skin. As I think of our long journey that we had this year, I think
of all the times that I thought I was going to lose. I was so close to giving up. As we travel down the beach, I know that we've won. We've conquered the darkness in our lives and turned it into happiness. And that happiness makes us winners. Because deep down inside, that's what we truly are.
