[november]
Surprisingly, Jin never heard back from him.
On Sunday, he texted Namjoon telling the younger he wanted to talk in person at school.
When he didn't get a response, he was slightly worried. Was he okay? Did something bad happen? Was he trying to avoid him?
But, he pushed all those thoughts aside. He remembered that Namjoon had told him once that he sometimes would turn off his phone to finish his homework so he wouldn't get distracted. It made sense, and Namjoon had said he was stressed out about school...
Plus, Jin knew how hyper-focused his boyfriend could get when he really concentrated on something.
He only started to panic when he realized Namjoon hadn't shown up for school on Monday.
Jin had nervously gotten ready early that morning, thoughts completely occupied with how he was going to approach Namjoon. He was hoping to catch the younger before school began, but unfortunately, ended up having to help his mother load some kind of presentation into her car, and got there just before the bell rang.
Even more unfortunately, Jin's first three periods were the only ones he didn't have with Namjoon, so he would have to wait until math to actually see him.
But he never showed.
Jin texted him repeatedly throughout the day. He was really concerned that something happened, so when lunch came around, he headed straight for their table.
Taehyung was there, so he knew something must be wrong with Namjoon. He pulled the younger Kim aside.
"Is your brother okay? I tried texting him all weekend and he never responded," Jin asked.
Taehyung looked nervous.
"He's fine, my-our little brother got sick, and he s-stayed home to watch... him." Taehyung must've realized how strange that sounded, because he seemed to catch himself on his last few words.
Jin was confused.
"Namjoon stayed home to watch Young-Jae? But, he has school? Don't your parents usually stay home with you when you're sick?"
Taehyung started to nod excessively, clearly stumbling over his words.
"Um, well you see, Namjoon thinks he may also be sick, so he volunteered while my parents went to work, and um, he's really smart so he can catch up with school, like, really fast. So yeah, it's not a big deal or anything, haha..." Taehyung scratched the back of his neck, watching as Jin seemed to ponder his words.
"Oh, well, maybe I should visit after school? I can-"
"No!" Taehyung practically screamed, before realizing his mistake. "I-i mean, you really shouldn't go around them because they're sick. Um, you may catch something too."
The older nodded in understanding.
"Okay, well, can you at least tell Namjoon to text me back? He hasn't talked to me since Friday..."
Taehyung nodded, "Yes, no problem. No problem at all."
Jin replied with a smile.
"Alrighty! Let me know if you need any help, I can even drop you off after school, or make soup or something."
"Thanks, Hyung, but I don't want to bother you-"
"You won't be! Just tell me what you need and I'll get it for you," Jin grinned, before turning around to go sit at the table.
