To the lie of love, never succumb
You'll be made a fool – stupid, dumb
I make it my rule of thumb
To remain impervious, numb
To the lie of love, never succumb
Avoid all deeper meaning
Stay away from connections interweaving
Already the deceptions are convening
Scheming, plotting, intervening
The end is always so demeaning
Maintain superficiality
Protection from reality
It's easy to procure profanity
When shielding with a veil of vanity
The only way to save your sanity
Your feelings have to be detached
To prevent the hurt from being hatched
Ignore how everything was snatched
Just how deeply you were scratched
The sickening thought of being rematched
Accept the endeavours full of futility
Seems beyond my attainability
Not for lack of availability
Just lack of eligibility
I'm no longer gullible to gentility
It holds no credibility
Not worth the possible underlying volatility
Follow your sensibility
And don't expose your fragility
You'll be lined up for liability
For the risk of possible tranquillity
That's met instead with coldness or hostility
And ends with feelings of imbecility
Maybe it's my inability
Like an invisible disability
Profound in incurability
Either way, my indefatigably
If failing, in the face of the worlds destructibility
And people's cruel corruptibility
Catapulted into corruptibility
An abandoned and used, useless utility
To the lie of love, never succumb
You'll be made a fool – stupid, dumb
I make it my rule of thumb
To remain impervious, numb
And to the lie of love, I shall never succumb
