The announcer's voice disappeared, as did the crowds, as you focused your full attention on the man standing in front of you. He looked...relaxed, which only served to irritate you. With your teeth clenched and lips pulled in a frown, you lowered your body to the floor in a crouch. Once you were steadied on the ground, you allowed your nen to create claws that protruded from your fingernails.
Hisoka only watched as you braced yourself on the ground. With that, you decided it was time to go on offense since it seemed Hisoka was content to just watch you. The man was confident enough to just wait.
The crack of your nen claws into the floor filled the tense atmosphere of the room. You leapt at Hisoka, claws outstretched, with terrifying speed. Absentmindedly, you could hear the noises of shock coming from some of those on the sidelines but you couldn't spare a moment to soak it in and be proud. You had to focus.
You tried to land a swipe on Hisoka as you came leaping towards him, yet he managed to side step out of your advance. You quickly swiped your leg out, a new claw growing from the tip of your shoe, in hopes to knick him and push him off balance. Unfortunately, the man seemed to just disappear and reappear behind you, causing your hair to stand on end.How the hell can he be so fast?!
You could feel his grip on the back of your shirt before you were suddenly thrown to the side. You managed to spin and land on your feet just in time to see him approaching you, a card in hand. Somehow, you were forced onto the defensive, just moving quick enough to dodge his ruthless attacks.
You could feel the sharpened card slice across your thigh, warmth now spreading down your leg. At this point, you flipped back and out of his reach, disengaging from his onslaught and allowing yourself some distance to grab your bearings. You quickly set up into a defensive stance, already panting from being forced to dodge. Yet, when your eyes met your opponent, rage filled your body.
He looked bored, disappointed even.
You were truly on autopilot now. Red, hot rage filled you which allowed your claws to grow sharper and longer. Based on the tinge of your vision, you could tell your eyes had become slits, characteristic of using heavy nen. You leapt once more, aiming to jump around and hopefully let him lose track of you. You pushed yourself to reach the fastest speed you could, allowing nen to enhance your legs and push you further, faster.
You managed to strike at Hisoka, shallowly slashing him across his braced forearms, quickly retreating back into your jumping approach. You landed another quick blow on his back. Immediately, you could see him spinning to kick your legs out from under you. Of course, you didn't let that happen, jumping back to create distance. You quickly leapt back at him, preparing to slash across his exposed chest while he was recovering from his kick. All of the momentum in your body was focused into landing the blow so it was with a bit of a surprise when you were abruptly stopped.
Hisoka had grabbed onto your forearms, your claws digging into the top of his shoulders. Your eyes widened as he pulled you closer, claws still dipped into his skin. You could only watch in disbelief as his face moved to the side of your own. A shiver rushed down your spine when you felt his breath blow across your cheek from his own slight panting.
"Now that's more like it, (Y/N)."
You quickly dug your claws further into his shoulders, allowing yourself to get out of his grasp when he let up due to the pain. You created distance once more, still in a state of slight shock. Most of your enemies didn't...encourage? Bait you? You honestly weren't sure what that was but it was still something that just didn't happen when you were trying to beat someone down.
