When I last wrote about the best musical properties of the burgeoning new year, life was chugging along, sweetly reminding us of the new resolutions we had to honour and how our eternal trustworthy ally was always going to be music in its various forms and permutations.
How our circumstances have changed, zipping us shut in our own mental battlefields owing to one of the most grim forecasts of the modern world since World War 2nd. The word 'pandemic' was certainly never heard in our young lifetimes but as we are experiencing it from such intimate quarters, our human endeavours are hanging by a slim thread and life has unraveled completely. How carefree we were even a month back. Going about our daily patterns like any normal person. Today, our foundations have been shaken.
But music is here to save us once again from mental imbalances and I felt by recounting the charm of songcraft, at the least I can evince something which is closest to preserving our collective sanity. After this period of apprehensive lockdown ends, one thing is sure and must be done en masse: appreciate that artistic people are the true levelers in our world and without them, a 'normal trajectory' for us to chart is literally impossible to conceive as an idea.
So on that note, we take account of these musicians charting our own world's largesse of spirit with a song to spare for each situation and loads of courage to infuse in each one of us.

The power of music needs to be enforced on the cynics more than ever before and that's the reason why I will only give you a collective preview of all featured songs by some truly consistent artists who always have the good stuff to offer to us listeners.
LITTLE BIG TOWN is the frontrunner here as all members of the acclaimed group pair their lyrical prowess with the harmonious beauty of their latest album NIGHTFALL.
Then another group in form of the always dependable THE LUMINEERS continues its winning streak with its unique stamp of poetic storytelling harboured by melody and personal motifs, finding much space and an universal sprawl to unfold on seven new songs from the album 3. This connective tissue of a single narrative guiding all seven songs is realized with minimalism, in the traditional style the members have come to represent.
