Without bottling up our reserves of hope and joy that we lived to see the other side of 2020, let's take pride in the voices guiding us through the volley of emotions we felt throughout.

So as we begin the ascending countdown for this newly minted year in our current era, may we all keep our faith in artistic creations lit up by musical diversity.

Cheers to a musically enriching 2021 then.

PUNISHER by PHOEBE BRIDGERS

Anyone who kept up with the churn of great musical sensibilities in 2020 found PUNISHER by PHOEBE BRIDGERS to be an inescapable part of their healing process, whether it was in the sanctity of one's room or while out, taking a much elusive walk in your favourite park.

Bridgers is just one of those artists whose intimacy and delicacy of expression borders on a communal whisper that is, in essence, one of individual catharsis. Beginning with the instrumental DVD MENU, she takes us through the depths of her silken poetry and emotional motions on GARDEN SONG, KYOTO, MOON SONG, HALLOWEEN and title track PUNISHER.

The array of her heartfulness is spread wide open with the same, consistent penchant for melody on almost all the eleven tracks, especially on SAVIOUR COMPLEX and GRACELAND, TOO.  ICU and especially the implosive properties of the excellent I KNOW THE END conclude it on a bang. The resultant feeling is one of a complete life experience lived vicariously through her words and soundscapes. She does it beautifully, launching herself with a yen for music in all its languid, moody exhalation of the spirit.
