Chapter 6
Even with my Daddy's hectic schedule, we always try our best to eat meals together. Usually, breakfast and dinner.
We eat with my Lola and Lolo.
I was wearing my white sleeping dress. I think it's around 6 in the morning.
I stopped midstep when I realized there's no one in the long table except a lad.
Liam Ivor Salvador. The congressman's only son. He smiled when he saw me enter the dining hall. "Good morning, Amary!"
I remembered first meeting him wayback when I was six year old. He lived with us for a couple of weeks while his parents are too busy to look after him. That was five years ago.
We didn't talk much before, only shared meals and a few small talks. We would only see each other during breakfast, and dinner. During weekends, he is out playing with his friends.
He's very studious.
The last time I saw him was last February.
"Good morning," I smiled politely. It's unusual that I don't eat breakfast with them.
I simply nodded.
I sat on the vacant seat opposite to him. We see each other on special occasions, but this is the first time that we are actually alone together so it's kind of awkward. Especially that my grandparents are always hinting that in the future, Ivor and I will get married.
We just go with it.
"Did you sleep well?" tanong niya bago mag-simulang kumain.
"Yes..." simple kong sagot.
Ngumiti ako at nagpasalamat.
Leilani Gonzales is Nana Leticia's adopted daughter. She was once living in the orphanage, kinupkop namin dito sa bahay dahil gusto ng Nana at para ring mayroon akong kasama na makakalaro. She's about the same age as Ivor. I'm twelve now, and they're both fourteen.
