-Spiros' POV-

Pulling up to the company building in my car I spotted several of the security guards already stationed outside one of the towns only high rises. Turning off the engine of my car I pulled the keys out of the ignition before stepping out of my car. Locking the door to my car as the wind blew through my hair. I grinned to myself as I spotted Charlie trying to sneak up on me. Stepping out of the way as he tried to grab me chuckling when he whined in annoyance.

"Hey man, the boss is waiting for you so he can start the briefing," Charlie Said leaning on the hood of my car his brown eyes glinting with mischief.

"Alright let's go" I Spoke nudging charlie with my shoulder smirking when he shot me the stink eye.

I walked beside Charlie as we walked into the company building. The rest of the security already gathered in the lobby. I nodded in greeting to a few of the security guards before we found the boss giving out assignments.

"Boss, you look busy" Charlie stated good-naturedly, for a burly man he was ever in a good mood.

"Not now Charlie we have work to do" The older man sighed rubbing his face as the stress started to get to him.

"Hey, Evan what assignment do you got for us," I asked completely disregarding Charlie's silliness.

"I want the two of you on the outer door, the other company president is set to be here in five minutes. You'll be based on the door until he leaves" Evan explained before pushing them towards the door.

"Yes boss" I affirmed before pulling Charlie by the neck of his collar to our station.

Charlie straightened himself out as we got to our posts standing on either side of the door. Clicking on my comlink I got a bit of static before the line settled down. My inner lion grumbled at the cold settling down when a limousine pulled up.

"Sir the company president has arrived" I Spoke into the comlink before straightening out when the man stepped out of the car.

"Good work Spiros make sure he gets in without a problem" Evan replied before the coms went silent.

I watched the streets as the other president approached my eyes glinting in the darkness as my lion helped me see in the dark. Seeing a flash of sliver come towards the man I intercepted grabbing the perpetrators arm. Squeezing the mans wrist until he dropped the knife. I kept a hold of the criminal until the president entered into the building.

"Sir, a bit of trouble out here a knife wielder went for the guest," I told Evan through the coms tightening my grip on the perpetrator as he struggled in my hold.

"Alright, I've called the police they should be there in two minutes" Evan answered before the coms went quite.

Waiting for the police to get here I counted on Charlie to clock any other potential threats before they happened. When the police squad car pulled up two uniformed officers stepped out and took the knife and the perp of me cuffing him and seating him in the car. When they drove off I took my position at the door.

"How did you see that guy it's so dark" Charlie exclaimed sceptically.

"The silver of his blade glinted in response to the streetlamp I just saw it before you that's all" I explained trying to soothe his human curiosity.

We spent the next few hours watching the street and denying access to the building for those who wished to enter. As the night wore on less and fewer people were on the street. Looking at Charlie I thanked the heavens I was a lion-shifter as I spotted his red nose and ears as he rubbed his hands together. Being security outside in autumn was not all it's cracked up to be

"All units the visiting president is making his departure" Evan Called through the coms.

"Yes, sir" Came the myriad of responses from all the security guards.

I watched as the limousine came back around just as the man stepped back out through the door. He went to walk towards his car before he stopped next to me blinking up at me with a smile. I looked down at him in confusion.

"I'd just like to thank you for earlier, here's a little reward" He explained pushing a wad of bills in my jacket pocket before he walked away.

I didn't dare call him back to tell him his money wasn't needed. You had to take kindness from a man like that and not argue as he was used to paying his debts with money. As he drove away from the building I picked out the money from my pocket and put it in my wallet but not before giving a 100 pounds of it to Charlie.

"Thanks for looking out man" Charlie smiled at me wrapping his arms around me to steal my warmth.

"No problem Charlie that's what friends are for" I replied rubbing his back to warm him up a bit more.

"Why are you so warm" Charlie whined as he let go of me.

"Cause I'm just that hot," I remarked wiggling my eyebrows.

"Geez, dude save that for your future boyfriend" Charlied exclaimed pushing me away with a huff.

I chuckled as his cheeks heated a crimson and he forgot how cold he was. I was glad I could tease him like this and he didn't make fun of my sexuality. My lion was also quite fond of my human friend.

"Everyone is dismissed" Evan declared through the coms before they were turned off.

"Well I got to get home be safe on your way back to your cabin," Charlie said patting me on the shoulder before running off to his car.

Shaking my head at his antics I walked back to my car only to pause when I scented blood. Shifter blood in my territory, My lion grumbled discontentedly in my mind as it couldn't pinpoint the scent. I followed the scent curiously before hiding behind a wall as I saw the scene before me.

"No son of mine is going to be gay, adopted or not," Said an overweight human man as he backhanded a boy he couldn't be older than 18 and it was apparent to me that he was a shifter.

"I'm sorry father, but I cannot change who I am" The boy cried before coughing up blood as the older man kicked into his stomach.

I was not about to watch this any longer and neither was my lion as I walked straight up to the man grabbing him by the neck and throwing him behind me. Leaning down I saw the boy was bearly conscious and beaten but he was the most beautiful man I had ever seen. His long white hair streaked with black was caked with red blood and his vivid blue eyes were swimming with pain. His slender body covered in injuries. Dipping down to pick him up, his scent deliciously swirled around me.

"You are not fit to be a father, if you don't want him I'll take him" I snarled at the human who had got back up.

I sneered at the vile human before I took the young man back to my car where I put him in the back seat and drove back to my cabin so I could take care of him. In all my months of running a territory, I have never felt like I needed to take care of another shifter.
