-Kenji's POV-
The journey to my adoptive mothers home was relatively peaceful as we no longer had Charlie following as he said he was going home to rest before he had to go to work, and Edward said he had to get home. Though that left the current problem, the heavy sexual tension between myself and Spiros was starting to make me feel hot and bothered. I'm sure Spiros had the whole day planned for us to give in to our desires. Too bad it didn't turn out that way.
"It's alright kitten once we get back I'm all yours and your all mine" Spiros spoke as he pulled up to my adoptive mother's driveway.
"I can't wait" I whispered back my stomach quivering with need.
Getting out of the car I walked up to the door to my adoptive mother's house only to squeak in surprise as Spiros pulled me back against him.
"We can knock together" Spiros answered no doubt he had felt my trepidation through our bond.
"Ok" I sighed letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding, rising to my tiptoes I placed a light kiss on his jaw.
Walking up to the door hand in hand I felt less nervous. It was as if Spiros brought out my inner strength and I loved him for it. Knocking on the door I steeled myself for the harsh words that were sure to come.
"Kenji, my baby, you're safe. I've missed you so much" my mother cried as she took me into her arms and cried into my neck.
Where were the harsh words the demands on injustice?
"I've missed you to mom" I responded after a few seconds of disbelief, hugging her back I finally let the walls I'd put up crumble as I held her.
"I'm so so sorry Ken," My mother said as she let go of me to look me in the eye using her nickname for me to address me.
"You're not angry," I asked as I wiped a tear out of my eye.
"Of course not dear, your my son and you always will be. Gay or not. Heck, you are a shifter and that never bothered me" She Spoke the words sincerely as tears gathered in the corner of her eyes.
I chocked up at her words, unable to speak I looked to Spiros for help as the emotion of knowing that even though we were different species my mother loved me no matter what.
"Hello, ma'am my name is Spiros. I am your son's mate" Spiros introduced as he offered her his hand to shake.
Finally focusing her attention on Spiros I saw her look him up and down before a brilliant smile lit up her features.
"It's nice to meet you, Spiros, My name is Emma but you can call me mom if you prefer" She replied.
"Thank you mom" Spiros offered, grinning as she looked at him in approval.
"Why don't you two come in, and by the way your mate is a catch, Ken," She said as she stepped aside for us to enter winking at me.
My cheeks inflamed red as I blushed, though my tiger wholeheartedly agreed with her. Glaring at Spiros as he gave a hearty chuckle. Ducking my head I headed straight for my room leaving my mate and my mom to talk some more. Stepping inside I realised how much clutter was in this one room than what Spiros had at his cabin.
Walking further in I glanced at a picture that was sitting on the nightstand. It was of the first day of kindergarten, I was in my mother's arms as she smiled down at me and my father had his hands wrapped around her waist grinning at my mother with clear love in his eyes.
When did it all go wrong?
Pulling out my suitcase from under my bed I packed all of my clothes, toiletries and my games console. I then found my phone which I left the night that Spiros rescued me. It was fully charged. Turning it on I was surprised with how many messages from my friend Melody I had gotten.
'where are you'
'I heard what happened are you ok'
'Your mom said you don't have your phone and you are staying with someone'
'If you read any of the texts please get in touch I miss you and I'm ready to share my biggest secret with you'
I had tried to call her when I was at the cabin but I couldn't remember her number as I had it saved to my phone so I never bothered to memorise it. Her last text seemed desperate and I became worried.
'I'm fine, I won my case against Klark. I miss you too, The guy that rescued me asked me to be his mate and I said yes. And anything you have to tell me won't change our friendship'
I sent the text and put my phone in my back pocket. Walking over to my bed I closed my suitcase and then dragged the case downstairs where I spotted Spiros and my mother talking. My heart fluttered at the sight of him and I knew I was doing what was right for me.
My pocket buzzed before I could enter the living room. I took my phone out of my pocket and checked the message I had received.
'I'm so glad you are safe. I'll be at the party in town tonight, please come and we can talk'
The text read. The party was where Spiros was working tonight. Walking into the living room I giggled as Spiros ran up to me wrapping me in his arms as he placed a delicate kiss on my lips. I purred at the gentleness in his touch. Stepping apart I blushed as I realised I had just kissed my mate in front of my mom.
"That was adorable, please don't be strangers now. I want you both for dinner at least once a fortnight" She ordered as she pulled us both into a hug squeezing for all she was worth.
"Yes mom, but we have to go now Spiros has to go to work soon and we still need to drop my things off" I replied patting her back in a comforting gesture.
As we left I felt a weight lift from my shoulders knowing that my mother still loved me and that she approved of who I chose to be my mate. Climbing into the car I smiled at Spiros as he loaded my suitcase into the car. As he climbed into the driver's seat my heart rate skyrocketed knowing that we would be home soon.
"Can I come to work with you tonight, my friend said she wanted to see me, and I'd love to see you at work?" I asked as we pulled away, Meldoys text replayed in my mind.
"I don't see why not, though I can't leave the party until everyone leaves as security" Spiros replied with his eyes focused on the road.
"That's fine, it will give me and Melody time to gossip" I offered.
The rest of the drive was spent in a comfortable silence though the sexual tension started to rise as we got closer to the cabin. Once there we got out of the car and collected my suitcase, putting it in the living room I went to go freshen up. Coming out of the bathroom I giggled as Spiros threw me over his shoulder walking to the bedroom.
Squeeking as he tossed me onto the mattress, the hungry look in his eyes had me mewling with need.
