*TRISHA'S POV*

Yes. I speak Chinese. Might come out as a shock but it shouldn't be though. Growing up as I child, my family was one you would call average. We lived in the suburbs, just a small town right outside the city. I schooled in the city most of my life, living with my Aunt Rachel. Home was where I always wanted to be. It was quiet back home and also I miss my family. Well the family that adopted me to be more specific. Being an orphan at a very young age I was adopted by the best people on the planet earth. They were Chinese but they've lived in America for as long as possible so they could speak both English and Chinese quite fluently. That's where I learned how to speak Chinese. Though I am no professional like Mr. Gardner wanted but I could get through with the meeting. After crying my eyes out after just getting fired by Mr. Gardner, I decided to get back to the meeting to do my possible best for him just so this doesn't turn out really bad. Carrying a pack of water for the guests I went into the board room to get on with whatever work I had left. Going around the table and dropping off each bottle I could hear the investors talking out loud in Chinese and obviously I could understand every single word. Moving on like I couldn't understand what they were saying, I halted in front of one of the investors who said something that caught my attention
"Yī jiàn yìshù pǐn(what a piece of art)" he said while smiling at me. Though what he said could go either ways, but I decided to take it as a compliment and so I smiled back. With that I was about to exit the board room when I looked over at Mr. Gardner feeling really bad that I messed this up for him, maybe I do deserve to be fired. Just as I wanted to leave one of the investors spoke out loud and it was not just the side talks, he was ready to talk business.

"Jiā dé nà xiānshēng, Zhège huìyì shénme shíhòu kāishǐ? (Mr. Gardner, when is this meeting going to start)?" The investor said. Turning back to look at Mr. Gardner he looked confused but still kept his cool he really knows how to keep calm and collected. At that point I decided I had to do something even though Mr. Gardner hates me for not being a professional, I'll try my best to make sure this meeting doesn't end badly.

"Huìyì xiànzài kāishǐ (The meeting will start now)" I said bringing the whole room to a calm. Everyone stopped talking and I knew damn well what was going through their heads. Not being phased about that, one of the investors went ahead to ask about the project in which I translated back to a very shocked looking Mr. Gardner but like a professional he was, he covered it up really quickly and went ahead with the meeting. Going back and forth with translating, it was obvious that the investors were very interested in the new project and were on board with all the decisions. At the end of the meeting all 15 of them signed the contract and were all smiling ear to ear. Some even came over to make conversation with me just telling me how well I spoke Chinese and I thanked them and with that they were all out of the board room. I was left in the board room alone with Mr. Gardner. Well I had to be there to pack up after the guest but I did not know exactly why Mr. Gardner stayed back. Acting like he wasn't even there I began packing up. I heard a quite cough echo through the room as I looked over at the source of the sound.

"Didn't know you could speak Chinese?" he said as he was going through the already signed contracts
"Yes sir. Just a little"
"Why isn't that in your File?"
"Well I'm no professional so I didn't think it would be necessary to put that in my document"
"Well you should. You did a good job"
"Thank you. Well I guess I'll go pack my stuff out of the office" I said packing up the last of whatever documents on the table
"Yeah sure" he said. Deep down inside me I felt more hurt at this but I just wanted to get it over with. Going over to the office I began packing my stuff. It wasn't much so I didn't take a lot of time.

*DAVE'S POV*
I couldn't believe it. I just signed the deal. I signed the deal with the biggest investors in the world.
This was something for the books. The company was headed for something big and it was a very exciting experience. I was as excited as I was shocked about what Miss Waston had done today. She really came through for me during the meeting well technically she was meant to hire me a Chinese Translator, but I knew that I still had to acknowledge the fact that she did an absolutely amazing job. Acting like I still had something doing in the board room, I felt a little guilty about getting her fired. Maybe I should give her another chance right?

"Didn't know you could speak Chinese" I said pretending like I was going through the already signed contracts.
"Yes sir. Just a little" she said in such a feminine voice which seems to have imprinted itself into my  head these past few days

"Why isn't that in your File?" I was really curious about that because she did so well at the meeting

"Well I'm no professional so I didn't think it would be necessary to put that in my document"

"Well you should. You did a good job" I said acknowledging the obvious

"Thank you. Well I guess I'll go pack my stuff out of the office" she said
I felt kind of bad about that, but how do I  tell her now that I've changed my mind about it?. It would only make me look like a jerk.
"Yeah sure" I said. I could see the hurt in her face as she left the board room. This is not just it.

*TRISHA'S POV*
I had left the office and gotten home. I didn't even bother to go over to his office, I just couldn't. Looking back at it, I think it was the right thing for him to do. I would have messed up the whole meeting if it wasn't for the fact that I was an orphan who was adopted by Chinese people and learned the language. On the bright side the meeting went really well. I was a little happy that I could do something for him even after I was fired. And I still have my date with Rio from McGarry's tomorrow. Wow, I didn't even realize it was Friday. That was one hell of a week. At the beginning of the week I had a job and now it's Friday and I am once again jobless. Sigh. I picked my phone to chat with Elisa. I am so embarrassed to tell her I was fired.

9:30 pm- Trisha: Hey girl
9:31 pm- Elisa: Sweetheart. It's been a minute. I know we have both been busy with work. It's been a longg ass week lol. Want to go out and get drinks tonight?
9:32- Trisha: I think I'll have to rain check on that. And I have something to tell you.

I really hated disappointing my best friend because she really wants me to have all the best in the world. Just as I saw Elisa typing I received a new text notification. Opening the message,

9:33- Dave Gardner: Your job is still yours if you want it. See you on Monday. Don't be late.

This had to be a joke. I mean someone must be trying to prank me or something. I called for my own sanity. It rang for a bit and then the other line picked up

"Hello?" I said waiting for the other line to say something
"Miss Waston why are you calling me at this hour?"

Oh my Goodness! He really was the one and he gave me back my job!

"N-nothing sir. I j-just wanted to confirm if your message wasn't a prank or something. I know it's really stupid but kids these days do these things and it's like so annoying. One time I and my b-"

"Miss Waston you are doing it again. You still have your job and I expect to see you early on Monday. Goodnight" and with that he hung up.

I didn't even get the chance to tell him thank you. At this point Elisa was already blowing up my phone. That girl doesn't have a patient bone in her body. Going back to my chat with Elisa

9:33- Elisa: what do you have to tell me?
9:34- Elisa: Girl you know I hate waitinggg
9:35- Elisa: I would come over to your place this instant. You know I would!
9:35- Trisha: Lol. You are so dramatic. Well, the thing is I lost my job but I just got it back a while ago. My boss texted me up that I got it back. How exciting!
9:36- Elisa: oh wow. Definitely not what I was expecting. Thought you would say you were preggo or something. But that's really good news girll
9:37- Trisha: Lol you are something else. Well, that's the tea and I got to go to bed. I've had a really long day. Ttyl. Love you xoxo.

With that I got comfortable in my bed feeling really good about myself. This week had been a hell of a ride. At least I got a date tomorrow. After a few minutes of just letting my thoughts take over, I could feel my self drifting off slowly.........
