Prom was tomorrow night. Currently Ian laid on his back looking up at the ceiling, thinking. The Student Council all agreed that Ian's masquerade ball idea was the greatest idea, so on top of that, they made him in charge of the playlist for Prom. He had to pick fun songs, dancing songs, and what he really didn't want to hear, slow dance music, and the least he wanted to hear, love songs. He shuddered at the thought of all the songs he's been replaying in his head.
Sam was heading over to help him decide which songs to pick. Sam said he was walking so it was going to take him a while to reach the Gallagher's house. Ian got up from bed and decided to listen to the songs he had on his phone, he grabbed his earphones and began to play the first song. "Sha-la-la, Sha-la-la, Sha-la-la." The song began, oh how he loved this song, and if he was honest, it did remind him of one certain someone. He stood up to feel the beat and slowly started dancing around the room, "Last night I lay in bed so blue,'Cause I realize the truth, they can't love me like you, I tried to find somebody new, baby they don't have a clue, they can't love me like you." The lyrics played and he hummed along swaying his hips and twirling around his room.
Sam slowly walked up the steps, laptop in hand. He knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. After a minute or so Fiona answered the door, shining her bright beautiful smile. "Sam, what are you knocking for, you know you can walk in anytime." She said while making room for Sam to come inside. He began to laugh, "Sorry Ms.Gallagher, I didn't want to be rude." He said while taking his coat off. Fiona giggled, "Come on now, your practically family Sammy." She said while patting his back. "Ian's upstairs, I think he dancing." She said while settling herself down on the couch. Just when Sam was gonna say something he could hear Ian sing some words he couldn't understand. Fiona giggled and nodded towards stairs. Sam smiled and jogged up the steps towards Ian's room.
When Sam reached the top of the stairs, he heard Ian, singing."L-O-V-E, Love the way you give it to me, when you're with me, boy I want it everyday!" Ian sang loudly while swaying his hips back and forth. From where Sam was standing he could hear the music playing. Ian finally twirled around to face Sam. Ian jumped at the sight of Sam, which made the other boy laugh. He stepped into the room and tossed himself on Ian's bed. "Damn dude, if you couldn't get any gayer." He said while smiling. Ian took his earphones out and laughed, "Excuse me for being proud of who I am." He said and sat by Sam. "That's a good song, nice lyrics, you categorize it yet?" Sam asked while opening his laptop. "No, uh not yet." Ian said and watched as Sam opened up his browser to YouTube. "Good, knowing you, you would have put that under dancing songs, which it is obviously a fun song." Sam teased. "Knowing me, knowing you, uh-uh." Ian sang and jumped up from the bed. Sam raised and eyebrow and shook his head. "There is nothing we can do!" Sam joined in, which made Ian smile. "We just have to face it this time, where through." Sam sang and used his water bottle as a microphone. Ian turned to find his brush, "Breaking up is never easy, I know, but I have to go!" He sang loudly. Just as they where going to continue, they turned to see Lip standing at the doorway, eyes widened. "Jesus Samual, you sure you ain't bi?" Lip teased and leaned on the door frame. Sam smiled and looked at Ian who rolled his eyes. "I don't know Philip, with you standing there like that, it's kinda doing something for me." Sam smirked. Ian let out a laugh and Lip flipped Sam off. "Yeah yeah whatever asshole." Lip said while turning to walk away. "Oh uh Ian?" He said before walking into the hall. Ian shot him a look, "Someone's here for you." He said and tapped the door while walking away.
"Jesus he doesn't give up, does he?" Sam said annoyed and peeked out the blinds. Ian hit him on the shoulder with the brush. "Don't say that." Ian said and Sam scoffed. "Well, Ian, theres no other way to say it." Sam said and stood up. Ian was about to head downstairs when Sam's comment made him stop. "What does that mean?" He voice cracked a bit. Sam was always anti-Mickey since the whole thing started but he never really spoke about him, in a mean tone. "It means, he's downstairs waiting for you, so he can apologize again, and you are going to forgive because that's who you are." Sam said looking Ian in the eye. Ian scoffed, "I'm not like tha-." Sam laughed, "Oh yes, you are, and watch everything gonna go back to "normal" and then he'll do something wrong again so, full circle, you'll be here heartbroken once again crying to me."
Ian couldn't believe what he was hearing. Was Sam getting tired of the break up stage? Was Sam actually complaining? "So this isn't about me and Mickey, this is about us?" Ian questioned. "Okay, that is so not what I was aiming for." Sam said, clearly now angry. "I was saying, he's just gonna hurt you again dude, it's sad but true." Ian laughed and nodded, "Is that what you really think?". Sam stared at him, "Look it's probably just better this way." He said stepping closer to Ian. "Yeah you think?" Ian mocked. Sure he really missed Mickey, but Sam sort of had a point. It really was only a matter of time before Mickey or hell even Ian would mess things up again. Maybe he needed to just forget. Easy for Sam to say, because Sam didn't know Mickey, he didn't love Mickey like Ian did. No, Ian couldn't fall for this again. The thought replayed in his head, only a matter of time. He was about to speak to Sam again when something caught his eye. He never noticed the sparkle in Sams eyes. Ian smiled to himself, he never admit this but Sams kinda beautiful, in some weird and oddly nice way. Ian remembered the first time he saw Sam, their first conversation, the first time they hung out. Everything became blank, he wasn't even there, there. Sam was speaking to Ian but Ian wasn't listening. He doesn't know what lead him to do this. Maybe the sparkle, the adrenaline from singing and dancing, or maybe that god awful thought in his head that just kept replaying.
"Dude what the fuck?" Sam said pulling away and wiping his lips. Sam slightly shoved Ian back as a reaction. Ian stood there, shocked. "The fuck man, just because I'm looking out for you doesn't mean you can kiss me, fuck." Sam said while wiping his mouth. "Look I'm all here for LGBTQ, so I have no problem with you, but fuck, I'm your best friend, Jesus." Sam said clearly freaking out about what just happened. "Shit- I'm sorry- I uhh-fuck Sam I'm sorry." Ian said completely freaked out. "The hell you do that for anyway?" Sam said while drinking his water and swishing his mouth, not being completely over dramatic. "I don't know, I guess I wanted to, felt like it." Ian said avoiding Sam eyes. Sam spit the water back at Ian, the water getting all over Ian's face. "Felt like it? Man you've sucked dick with that mouth." Sam teased. Ian smiled and laughed, shocked that he kissed Sam and shocked that Sam literally spat water on him. Ian grabbed the towel nearby his bed and wiped his face and shirt. "Yeah I guess I deserved that." He said while laughing. "You mad?" Ian's asked when Sam sat by him. "No, not really, uh, that was my first, so thanks for stealing it." Sam said while laughing. "Shit sorry." Ian said while laughing. "We cool?" Sam asked after they stopped laughing. "Yeah man, I'm glad I didn't fuck up the friendship." Ian admitted. Sam smiled and nodded.
"Ian?" Fiona yelled while coming up the steps. "Hey someone's downstairs for you, they've been waiting a while." Fiona said while standing by the door. "Shit." Ian said and jumped up. "You gonna head out?" Ian asked when he saw Sam grab his stuff. "Aww no Sam, stay for dinner, please." Fiona begged. Sam smiled at her, "I gotta get home, I'll stop by later though for dinner." Fiona smiled and walked back downstairs. "Shit, glad she didn't walk in when I kissed you." Ian said while walking downstairs. Sam scoffed and walked behind him, they both made it downstairs and when Ian turned around to open the door, Sam grabbed him and kissed him. Fiona gasped loudly and Lip nearly chocked on his beer.
"Stealing my kiss back asshole, so screw you." Sam said while slightly slapping Ian's cheek. "Later Ms. Fiona, later Philip." Sam said while opening the back door and throwing a peace sign in the air. Ian laughed and closed the door, "The fuck was that?" Lip laughed out, followed my Fiona giving a loud laugh as well. Ian flipped them off and walked to the the front door where supposedly Mickey was. He was surprised to see that no one was in the living room so he made his way to the door. He opened it and saw someone sitting on the steps wearing a hoodie. He stepped outside and closed the door, "Hey Mic- ohh shit!".
