chapter eight

i turn to see hayden
a-"hey what are you doing here?"
h-"um i'm on a date" i nods his head over to a brown haired girl
i heart kinda fell into my stomach i'm not sure why i mean i like kevin right? i shake the feeling away
a-"she's pretty whats her name ?"
h-"winter yea um we met in bio she's a freshman but she's really mature i think i really like her"
a-" i'm happy for you" i give him a weak smile
h-"yea how was ur date with um.."
a-"kevin yea it was really good"
h-"i'm glad i gotta get back to winter but um i'll see you later yea ?"
a-"ok yea see ya"
i walked away and went to find sage
***Quinns pov****
i see amber and sage at the basketball hoops and i walk up
q-"hey i need to talk to you"
amber raises an eyebrow at sage
q-"sage?" he nods his head slightly
she give him a puzzling look and sage strugs his shoulders slightly before walking away with me
q-"what did she say to you?"
s-"what?"
q-"amber come on did she say anything"
s-"she didn't say much" he mumbles
q-"please bro i messed up big time"
s-"she just said that she was pissed that's all"
q-"erm ok... do you think i can fix it?"
s-"i don't know man i don't want to get into the middle of things"
q-"ok yea i get it"
sage walks away and over to a game i start to look around for amber when i see her talking to another guy. i think i've seen him before in the hallways and stuff but why was he talking to amber? i see her eventually walk away and i approach her
****ambers pov****
i turn to find sage when quinn walks straight up to me
a-"i REALLY don't want to talk to u right now"
q-"please just listen to me"
a-"i would rather do anything else"
q-"why won't you just listen to me" quinn grabs my wrist tightly
a-"ow q will you let go ur hurting me"
q-"not until you listen to me" he grip tighten and i saw this look in his eyes that i've never seen before
i struggled to get my wrist free when suddenly hayden ran up behind quinn and tackled him to the floor.
h-"SHE SAID GET OFF HER MAN"
q-"WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE"
hayden and quinn were wrestling each other and this really scared me
a-"SAGE HELP" i screamed
a-"HAYDEN PLEASE DONT"
sage came running over and successfully pulled apart quinn and hayden. hayden walked over to me
h-"come one we're going home"
a-"hayden i-"
h-"NOW. amber please now."
i nod my head and follow him out the door. we walk up to his red corvette.
h-"get in please."
he opens up the car door and i get in without saying a word. hayden gets in the drivers seat and we pull out.
h-"who was that guy" he glares at me
a-"his name is quinn and i don't want to talk about it." tears start to well up in my eyes but i force them away
a-"what happened to winter?"
h-"she's having a friend come get her she'll be fine."
a-"i'm sorry i ruined your date" i whisper loud enough for him to hear.
h-"hey no don't do that you didn't do anything that guy was a total ass."
the rest of the drive home hayden and i didn't say a word he pulled up into my drive way and i got out of his car
a-"um thanks hayden"
h-"for what?"
a-"being there"
h-"i'll always be there for you so if you do want to talk about it call me please"
i nod my head and walk up to the front door
****time speed****
bring bring
i look down at my phone to see kevin calling i put on my best fake voice
a-"hey what's up?"
k-"are you ok ?"
a-"what i'm fine."
k-"please don't lie to me my friend was at the arcade today he saw everything"
a-"oh" i let out a breathe that i didn't know i was holding
a-"yes i'm fine now"
k-"ok im glad i'll see you tomorrow and you can tell me everything ok ?"
a-"ok see you tomorrow"  i hang up the phone and immediately start to cry. i'm not sure why it was really sweet for kevin to care about me. i was lucky to have him right ?
