-He has an older sister which is three years older than him and is currently a model based in Canada.

-His father is a surgeon while his mother is a CEO of medical services company.

-He is born in Toronto but his family moved to Vancouver when he was 1 year old.

-His family are neighbors with NCT's Mark Lee's family while living in Vancouver and they grew up very close.

-He would often recall how he and Mark would tease each other.

-He witnessed a crime while he was eating a quick after-school snack at a convenience store. He saw a man in a black van pull over and then robbed a store. He pictured the plate number from a safe distance and later ran with his friends to the police station. He also became a witness with his friends at court and was even shown on television.

-He was in a school choir when he was in middle school and also a part of a church choir during high school.

-He used to play soccer.

-He also used to attend violin classes.

-He was casted at a school event but he managed to hide inside the cafeteria kitchen of his school before the agent got him.

-He was in high school when his sister and he were walking around and saw a poster for the auditions in Canada and his sister urged him to be an idol.

-He declined everytime but then after constant begging, he auditioned.

-His parents were against of such but then they immediately agreed when they saw his passion being a trainee.

-He is a former SM Entertainment Trainee and was supposed to be one of the original lineup in NCT 127.

-He trained under SM Entertainment for 3 years and he left due to personal issues.

-He had known Jaewoo since he was a trainee in SM Entertainment.

-He is close to all NCT members especially to NCT Dream members.
