We all walk inside Alexandria and right now I felt invisible and unstoppable and I put my armor on to show you how strong I am I put my armor on to show you that I am unstoppable. I grab my gun and each savior and scavenger I saw was either dead or wounded all thanks to myself. I load up my gun as I hide behind a mailbox and try to kill negan and I scream "carl here" I grab my silver handgun and toss it to him and he catches it and aims at every savior he sees. I smile and fight alongside him and rick and I see carl smile at me and I say "Alexandria will not fall today come on".
He grabs my hand and we start fighting back and reclaiming our lives and our communities we didn't just do it for that we did it for ourselves. If Glenn was alive he would want us to fight back and not to roll over and take it we still have a lot of fight left inside our hearts. After they all scattered after shiva attacked and we checked everywhere to make sure all the saviors were dead. I take a deep breath and then dad runs over to me and hugs me I return his hug and find myself smiling and he says "I like the new look".
I smile at him and tara walks out of the infirmary no doubt checking on rosita she got shot during this I heard rick tell daryl. She turns to me and her eyes widened and Chrissy hugs me and so does pop and tara says "dahlia wow I like the haircut it looks good". I find myself smiling and I nodd at her as a thank you and then maggie says her speech which I found beautiful. After our fight, I go back up to the hilltop with pop and maggie and I was helping earl with making weapons for everyone and then I hear the gate open and close and I see tara and dad drive into the gates.
Dad gets off his bike and tara gets out of her car and nods at me I walk over to dad and hug him and I say "hi tara". She smiles at me softly and I walk back to the blacksmith and earl and cal send me smiles and I keep working on making the weapons. Earl taught me everything I knew about blacksmithing and pop taught me everything on how to be a sniper. I smile at earl and I kept helping him until it was time for dinner and I feel the sweat roll down my forehead and I walk outside and I feel the wind whip right through me.
I wipe the sweat away and I clean my hands in the water trough right by earls station and I see dad, pop, and maggie handing out food for everyone. I make my way to them and I help everyone else and I fix my plate and my sweet tea and I sit beside dad and Chrissy sits in front of me. She leans her legs onto mine and I start to eat the venison maggie and my dad fixed no doubt and I say "you did well on the venison dad". He bumps my arm and he says "I didn't make it this time yer girl over there did" I see a smirk over his face and I look at tara and she smiles at me and I say "you did good rae".
She sends me a soft expression and I say quietly to dad "and she's not my girl daddy not anymore" I finish the venison and dad says "from the way she's looking at you every few minutes I say she still likes ye". I shake my head at him and I say "she likes the idea of me and that's ok and she still isn't over Denise and that's ok if she is still in love with Denise then she's not being fair to me I'll still be there for her whenever she needs me but not now". He shrugs and after dinner, I throw the paper plates away and help maggie clean up and go to our trailers and prepare for the next battle tomorrow.
When I walk into my trailer and everyone was either sleeping in their trailers or on the wall I sit on my porch steps. I run my hand through my greasy hair and feel a cool breeze and I feel truly and utterly safe here to be out in the open. I stare up at the stars and I wonder if our past members that everyone has lost are looking down at us and when I feel the wind pick up and fly right by me I know for certain they can see us. I know for certain that if we keep them in our hearts they will watch over us I close my eyes and feel tears start to form in the corner of my eyes.
I have no idea why I'm crying I barely knew Glenn or Abraham but because they meant the world to my dad I share his burden with him losing his friend that he has been with since the beginning. Rick told me how he grew to be family to Glenn and how Glenn stuck his neck out for rick at the beginning of this. I feel someone sit beside me and I expect it to be my dad and I see it's tara she rubs my back and pulls me into a hug and I just cry over the loss of my friend. I don't think I ever mourned the loss of Glenn or Abraham but I know one thing is for certain negan is gonna pay for what he did to our family.
*Six Months Later*
Dad, Carol, Ezekiel, Chrissy, Tara, and I stand on the highway waiting on the herd to come and I place my desert eagle in my holster as tara counts down and the herd doesn't come. I snicker from beside dad and she curses "shit" I cross my arms over my chest the Virginia heat beaming down on me. Then we see the walkers come around the corner and dad says "oh there" I playfully slap tara's arm as she chews on a twizzler and she says "okay close enough". I head straight to dad's bike and get on behind him and I grab my gun as everyone leaves we wait for the herd to get closer.
We wait for the car to explode and when it does we start to lead the walkers to the sanctuary and I shoot every box along the way so the walkers have something to look at. I keep turning around and making sure the herd didn't veer off and it looks like they were taking the bait. I pull my gun out again and take my aim at the box and pierce the box and it explodes and dad asks over the bike "ye alright?". I flash him a thumbs up and when we set the walkers into the sanctuary and everybody drove away from it except father Gabriel.
I get off my dad's bike and that night when I was on guard I see some of the saviors walking amongst everyone and Alden flashes me a smile. I return it and I wave at him and then out of nowhere it started to pour down rain and I see Alden start to laugh. I cannot remember the last time we had good rain and I see some of the kids dancing in the rain and I find myself giggling those kids are our future. I turn when I hear a whistle from my dad and he says "get down here darlin" maggie climbs the ladder and I see tara start to dance with the little kids.
That moment right there is when I realized I am so far gone for her I don't wanna wait and maggie bumps my arm and she tells me "go get yer girl". I smile at her and I say to her as the rain continues to pour down on top of us "we're like a time bomb and I wouldn't have it any other way". Maggie sends me a smirk and I say "she's got my heart in her hands like a time bomb ticking" I climb down the ladder and see tara still dancing with the kids. When she looks up at me her face lights up I don't wanna spend my life beating around the bush I know what I want and I want her.
She meets me halfway as my clothes cling to my body from the rain and when she gets face to face with me she says right next to my ear and she says it in the softest voice "when the war has taken its part and the world has dealt its cards and if the hand is hard together I'll mend your heart". I smile at her and her long brown hair soaking wet and she says "I love you dahlia and I won't ever change my mind". My eyes widened and I find myself smiling and I say to her "go on and let the rain pour I'll be all you need and more". She smiles and her arms wrap around me and I wrap mine around her neck and she says "when the sun shines we'll shine together told you I'll be here forever Said I'll always be a friend took an oath I'm a stick it out till the end".
I crash my lips onto hers and she immediately kisses me back and she pulls me closer to her body and I run my hands through her hair as the rain keeps pouring down onto us. As cliche as it sounds, I have always wanted a kiss in the rain and I giggle softly and she asks "what's so funny gorgeous". I look up at her and I say "we just kissed in the rain as cliche as it sounds" she dies laughing and I never ever wanna stop listening to her laugh it's the most beautiful sound I have ever heard. I feel a hand connect with my ass I turn around and see it's Judith I send her a smirk and I say "ye better run girly".
I start chasing her around and she giggles like crazy and I see my dad and pop laughing at us and it was the first time I have ever seen my dad smile.

After we got through dancing in the rain tara and I both run inside my trailer and as I dry my hair with a towel. She removes her shirt in the kitchen and my eyes widen she looked absolutely gorgeous good god almighty she turns around and sends me a smirk. I lean against the door I start to walk over to her I drop the towel and she shoves me against the door and her lips crash onto mine. I wrap my arms around her neck and because I was so short and small she picks me up like I weighed nothing.
I giggle and she breaks away from me and I say "you just had to pick me up didn't you? had to prove how little I am". She laughs at me and tosses me over her shoulder and I exclaim "tara" she carries me to what I assume is the bedroom. She chuckles and I feel my back come in contact with the bed and she straddles my hips I start to remove my shirt and she helps me and she kisses me firmly on the lips again.
Well, I bet you can guess what happened after that.
