And started crying.

Y/N's POV:

I saw Hari storm up to his room, clearly upset. Nemoto and I glanced but each other but we soon broke it. He went upstairs as well. Kai ditched his regular video game routine and sat down frustratingly the living room couch but I didn't say anything of it. The house was silent without the loud sounds of Kai's video games. It was the first time I noticed that.

I too went upstairs to my room, not knowing what to do. I came into my room and sat on my bed, hugging a pillow. Why did it have to be him of all people... Why does it have to be cancer, and not like the simple flu. I balled up and closed my blinds, leaving the room quite dark. It was 4 pm, a Wednesday. Pops would usually cook on Wednesdays and Fridays. His dishes were the best.

Hari's room was beside mine. I stayed completely silent and listened to what he was doing. Every few seconds I'd hear a quiet sob, not coming from myself. I felt tears building up, and one finally escaped. I gritted my teeth and licked my lips, not wanting to cry.

But I did.

I was an easy crier, and I was usually the first to cry out of a group. I dug my face into my pillow and let the tears out. Pops was sleeping right now, in his hospital bed. Or did he wake up? Is he dreaming right now? What's he dreaming of? What would he think when he notices that we left? I should stop thinking of those things.

I heard some birds chirping a lovely tune, some tears still pouring out of my eyes. I looked up at my clock and observed it was 4:13. Had I been curled up for that long? The chirping of the birds stopped and my tears were slowly drying up.

A notification popped up on my phone and I checked what or who it was. I wiped my tears and looked at the phone screen. Someone wanted to buy Gamblerama. They wanted to know how much I was selling the place for, and I ended up texting, "Name your price."

Unknown

<You're F/N L/N right?
<How much are you selling
Gamblerama for?

Name your price>

<40 million yen?

Sure>
Can I please get your name?>

They wrote their name on the screen and I scribbled it down on a notepad. They asked for a suitable time to buy Gamblerama, and I told them somewhere this week would be fine. I feel like doing some business would clear my mind from this cancer stuff, yeah? Well, it never really works.

They responded with a sure and told me to meet up outside of Gamblerama at noon, tomorrow. My last text was a sure, and the conversation ended. 40 million yen was much more then I hoped for, to say the least. I quietly squeaked in excitement, and rolled in my bed. My mood completely changed, and I was ecstatic as hell.

Over the last month, I had to do a lot of cleaning and re-furnishing to Gamblerama. Not to mention paint everything all over again because of the damn blood stains on the wall and floor. It took ages, to say the least. But now, the place is fresh and ready for a new start.

I think Kurono heard my squeaking and knocked on my door. "Y/N..?" he said through the door, unsure.

"Oh my god Hari," I smiled and ran to open the door. I opened it with a happy expression while his face was still pretty gloomy and sad.

"What is it?" he cocked his head to the side. I noticed that his cheek had a dried streak of tears, if you know what I mean. I pulled out my phone and showed Hari my latest text conversation.

"Gamblerama is going to be sold! And even better, the person is offering 40 million! 40 MILLION!" I yelled, and his face lightened.

"Oh, thank god. I thought you were going through a mental breakdown," he sighed.

"Well, I was at first," I admitted with a sheepish face. "But then I saw a notification pop up at my phone, and then this blessing happened!" I exclaimed with happiness. "I'm so excited, oh my god. They want to buy it tomorrow at noon!"

"Good for you Y/N," he chuckled lightly and ruffled my hair. Nemoto opened the door, peaking his head through the frame.

"Uh, I heard the whole conversation. How much did you say they were offering it for?" the brunette asked.

"40 MILLION! EEK OH MY GOD IT'S SO MUCH," I jumped up and down in joy. Kurono laughed at me, and soon enough, Kai came popping his head into the situation as well. He came up the stairs and observed us.

"40 million isn't that much to be celebrating about. Want to know how much Pops has in his account?" he asked with his usual monotonous voice. We all nodded, and waited for his response.

"460 million."

We all jaw dropped and our eyes bulged out of our heads. "Don't make those expressions they're weird," Kai said, then left back downstairs.

Wait—

Did he say that to make my 40 million sound like nothing?

"KAI YOU ASSHOLE," I screamed the ran downstairs to catch him. I heard Kurono laugh loudly followed along with Shin's own laughter as well. I grabbed one of Pop's slippers and whacked him in the head with it, pouting.

"Ow!— D-Don't hit me with a dirty slipper!" he said while breaking out with hives. I sent him a playful but mischevious glare and crossed my arms.

"That's only if you never mock me ever again," I mumbled. We agreed and the house cooled down again.

Maybe a life without Pops won't be too hard.
