This is going to be a bit of a sad chapter 🌧 😔

My last thoughts were, "He's such a flirt."

<time skip>

I wake up at the sound of my doorbell. A visitor? At this hour?

My head looked at the clock at my nightstand and it was 6:30 am. My date was at 8:30 am. Did I get the time wrong? No way. I looked out the window to see who it was and it was two police officers. Why're the cops here?

I out on my daily attire and stumble down the stairs. My hair is probably a wreck. I open the door and greet the officers. "Hello, how may I help you?" I ask them. Usually, my mother and father would respond to knocks at the door, but they strangely weren't back.

Could something have happened to them?

"We're sorry ma'am, but your parents were involved at a shooting at a restaurant last night at nine. We apologize," one cop said. His expression didn't look too sad. Did he even care?

My tired eyes turned into watery ones. "C-Can you give me any details?" I plead the officers.

"We do not know any right now, but you can come to the police station and look at the footage," the other officer said. He was leaning by my porch.

"Can I please s-see it?" I ask them, about to cry. They nods their heads as they walk to their police car parked in the driveway. One gets into the driver's seat as the other escorts me into one of the two back seats. After I get in, they shut the door and get into the front passenger seat, and the car turns on.

"Ma'am, you look tired, so please take a rest," one officer suggests. A nap sounds nice right now, considering that the weather isn't too currently too bright. I lean against my seat and put on my safety belt. The car starts driving and I rest.

<time skip>

I woke up when the car stopped driving and the two officers were telling me to get out. I stepped out of the car and walked into the police station as the two cops followed behind me. I see a female receptionist in the large room. "Y/N L/N? Is that your name?" The lady asked. I nod my head. "The footage is in the back room, these two kind officers will show you there," she smiles at me. I couldn't return the gesture, as my brain was too overwhelmed by negative emotions to do so.

I looked at two different officers standing my a doorway at the back of the room. They gestured me to come in so I did. The room was full of computers and TV's. One showed a paused clip of a restaurant where me and my parents would always go to on Thanksgiving and Lunar New Year and times like that. One officer pressed the play button and the video started playing.

A masked criminal suddenly barrages into the building, right in the first ten seconds of the clip where my parents just paid the check. "Put your hands up! Now!" he orders violently. 9 more masked idiots arrive at the scene with AK-47's. Many of the innocent people eating screamed and raised their hands up and fell onto their knees.

One criminal then spotted the camera and two others. They shoot them, and then the screen goes blank.

I clenched my fists tight, and gritting my teeth after the recording ended. Those god damn criminals gotta fucking pay.

"We're sorry, but there was too few evidence at the scene to find out who these criminals were. Since you were their foster child and they had no other relatives, you will receive their money and belongings. You have half a million in your MasterCard. With your parents and your money combined, you'd probably only be able to keep your house until the end of the month. We would suggest that you give up the house and stay at a friend's until everything is resolved," A female officer tells me. Although I just lost 4 million yesterday, they were right that I had half a million left because of my losses to that stupid Hari Kurono and his stuck up friends.

I probably couldn't even afford the rent for a month. I guess I could gamble more, but even I think that gambling too much is an unhealthy habit. I felt lucky that I wasn't addicted yet.

"Alright," I tell them. "I don't know anywhere I can stay yet but I'll figure something out," I reassure them.

"Are you sure?" The officer asks one last time.

"Yes," I made my final decision.

The officers nodded and they took me back to my apartment in silence. Loosing my foster parents is such a big loss, but at least I had a lot of money. The officers transferred 349 thousand yen from my father's bank accounts and 278 thousand yen from my mother's. I went on my laptop and checked my card accounts. There was merely 1 million in total. It was so less compared to what I had before. Just at the morning of yesterday, I had 3.5 million in my MasterCard and 1 million in my PayPal.

"Ugh," I groan. I look at a family photo consisting me and my foster parents and I start to tear up. I grab a pillow that was on my living room couch and started crying in it.

I sobbed for a minute or so until my eyes rested on the clock. It was eight. Did time really pass by that quickly?

Despite my bad mood, I decide to prepare for the date anyways, as I brushed my hair and apply some makeup. The clock turned to 8:30 am.

I hear my doorbell ring and Kurono's voice. "Y/N?"
