Dear Diary,

Today, Ms.Tig is going to do a simulation with us. I'm hoping it's a good one something that has to do with the beach and vacations. I won't be able to take it if it has anything to do with zombies. For one day I wish I could be normal.

Alex

Alex got out of bed and Went into the bathroom.

"Alex hurry up we're going to be late," Hope yelled from the other room buttoning her Cardigan. Alex put her clothes and let her hair down, out of her bun.

Alex and Hope headed downstairs and took a seat just before Emma started to speak, "As supernaturals, we all carry a burden. Our eyes are open to evil. And recently you've all had to face it. Some of us process these traumas by suppressing what happened. For others, it's easier to bury it deep inside and pretend like nothing's happened at all. Still, others may take a different route, such as..."

Hope interrupted Emma, "Pushing people away in an attempt to self-isolate? Because everyone they love is in perpetual danger, which often results in them becoming perpetually dead." Everyone looked at Hope like  she had problems.

"See? There. That's it. That's my therapy. Can I go now? Because, uh, Landon's outside trying to fly and could use a spotter," Alex sighed at Hope's remarks.

"I'm afraid not, Hope Because the point is we can all do better at processing the traumas we've been through. Which is why Dr. Saltzman has asked me to conduct a special group lesson today."

Lizzie being the center of attention as usual stated, "I, for one, could really use this, and I would appreciate everyone's support."

M.G. looked around at everyone then spoke up, "Honestly, I don't know why I'm here, but I'm down to help."

Emma continued after giving M.G. a look of approval, "You will all have an important role to play in this simulation." Hope and Alex both gave Emma the 'really' look.

"Oh, stop looking at me like that. It'll be fun." Emma uncovered a box, "This device was created by Professor Rupert Vardemus," Emma got nasty looks from the group.

"The real Professor Vardemus. He's quite famous in mystical therapeutic circles. It's his variation on a Chambre de Chasse. All your psychological concerns will be transferred inside to form a shared narrative. Now, the world you create together can be anything, from pirates on the high seas to spies in the Cold War. But no matter what it ends up looking like, it will be designed specifically to help you. Out here, you're unconscious. You'll have no awareness that you're in a simulation."

M.G. figured it out, "So, it's like a game?"

Lizzie was more interested in winning this game. "Uh, how do I win?"

"Simply reach the end of your story and you'll be given an escape word. Say it aloud and you'll become self-aware again, then wake up here, having discovered something valuable in the process." Emma paused, "Any questions?"

Lizzie noticed Jade walking in, "Uh, yeah. I have a question. What the hell is she doing here?" Jade walked up to Emma, "Hi. Uh, sorry I'm late." She took a long pause and stared at Josie, "Uh, weird dreams."

Alex looked at Hope in confusion, "Is something going on there?" She asked, Hope shrugged.

"You're just in time, Jade. Don't worry. What we're about to do here is merely a simulation. And I'll be in it as well, and self-aware the whole time. I promise to keep a careful eye on all of you."

Lizzie looked up and closed her eyes, "Everyone think of bright, sunny, tropical beaches."

Emma opened the box and everyone was transported into a 1940's looking world.

"The air was as cold as a kiss from a corpse. My partner worked at night, and now, so did I. I had to, if I was ever going to find him. But on the bright side, at least I knew where to start. Because there's one thing that everyone in Mystic Falls knows. There's a place where the lost things go."

A detective dressed M.G. walked into a bar titled 'Landon's' Emma was singing on stage. Josie, Lizzie, and Alex were sitting at a table enjoying drinks.

"That photographer. He followed us from the airport," Josie said

"I'm in town to make a picture, Jo. The more publicity, the better," Lizzie fanned herself.

Alex took a sip of her drink, "Plus Jo, you have to admit he is good looking"

"As your sister, but more importantly, your publicist, I disagree with the both of you. We need to control the narrative. Because if you still looked good from that angle, we'd be working with Howard Hawks."

"Fine. Then at least find me another drink after you're done scaring him off."

Alex laughed at Lizzie, "As if you need another drink." Alex got up to talk to the photographer.

Applause aroused as Emma got done singing, "Thank you. Thank you. I'm Emma Tig. I'll be taking a break, but don't worry, I'll be here all night, if anyone needs my help." She winked signaling the students and walked off.

M.G. was seated at the bar, staring at Lizzie, "This ain't a peep show." Hope said, wiping down the counters next to him.

"Can you blame me? Elizabeth Saltzman's a star. I've seen all of her movies."

"I'm bad with faces."

"I'm hoping that's not the case. I'm looking for my boss, the best P.I. this town's ever known." He showed her a picture of him and Professor Vardemus.

"Like I said, I'm bad with faces."

"He's in danger, Miss Mikaelson."

"How do you know my name?"

"The same way I know your liquor license is expired. So, let's help each other out."

Hope sighed, "He looks like the kind of guy who comes here for the music. If I were you, I'd ask the dame who sings, because I don't."

M.G. knocked on Emma's dressing room door, "Miss Tig? I'd like to have a quick," When he opened the door to find another guy standing over top of her dead body holding a necklace. A broken glass was on the floor near her hand, "Vardemus?"

The man turned around and it was Vardemus, "My name is Holmes, dear boy. Sherlock Holmes."

Salvatore School...

Emma sat up and started to gasp and pant. Everyone else was still asleep. She walked over to the students confused, "How is this possible?"
