After a couple of weeks of Ash working from my house I forced her to go back to L.A. I could tell that she wouldn't go back unless I made her so I stepped up. I didn't want her to fall behind so I practically kicked her out of my apartment.
I was still a little upset about her leaving but I knew that her music would be better if she was in the studio with her producer. She had sent me some of the songs she had finished for the album and they were amazing. I could tell she put a lot of thought into them. It was obvious that this was her passion; It was something she loved to do.
Ever since she told me that she loved me I felt like it was even harder to let her go. It was like I gave her a piece of myself and farther she was from me the more that piece grew. I knew that long distance would be hard but lately we just weren't in synch. It felt like we were always just missing each other and when we caught up it only lasted for a second.
"Hey love," I cooed as Ash answered her phone.
"Hey sunflower," she sighed.
"You seem tired," I commented.
"Yeah a little I've just been really busy," she said.
Before I could respond a curly haired boy popped into frame. He looked very similar to Ash and it was clear that they were related in someway. She gave him a glare but he ignored it and turned to me with a bright smile.
"Hey! Is this Thena," he said enthusiastically.
"Yeah hi," I said.
"Move over Ash," he said through gritted teeth while struggling to push her out of the chair.
"What the fuck Sevian," Ash said getting up from the ground.
"Sharing is caring Ashley," he said.
"Whatever I'm gonna go get some coffee," she huffed walking out of the room.
"So I'm Sevian if you didn't already hear it from MY ANNOYING SISTER," he yelled so Ash could hear him.
"I'm Athena but I'm pretty sure you already know that," I said with a little laugh.
"Yeah! There's no way I couldn't you're all Ash ever talks about," he said.
"Aww that's sweet!," I cooed.
"Yeah awww you guys are gross," he laughed.
"It's okay we know," I joked.
"I like you! You can call me Sev," he said.
"It's an honor," I told him.
"I have to go Ash looks like she's gonna have a fit if I don't let her talk to you," he said.
"I do not," Ash whined.
"Okay bye Sev! It was nice to meet you," I said with a wave.
"Yeah same! Bye," he said leaving.
"Hey sunflower, sorry about that," she said.
"It's cool I like him," I said.
"Great now my girlfriend and brother are gonna become best friends and gang up on me," she said with a slight smile.
"That's the goal," I joked.
"I miss you," she said.
"Awww sunflower I miss you. I think I'm gonna die without you," Sevian yelled from the other room.
Ash shot him a glare from her seat and I erupted into laughter. She gave me a glare too but it was accompanied by a slight smile so I knew she was joking.
"I miss you too. I was actually thinking that maybe I could come visit you soon," I said shyly.
"Really? That would be amazing," she said.
"Yeah?," I questioned.
"Yeah! I could show you around and introduce you to my friends here! Most importantly you'd be here! When do you think you can come?," she rambled.
"I was thinking at the end of the month if that's okay," I said.
"Yeah that's perfect," she said.
"Good I cant wait," I said.
"Me either! Well I have to go but I'll talk to I you tomorrow, okay?," she said.
"Okay. I love you," I said.
"Love you too. Bye," she said ending the call.
The call only made me more excited to go visit Ash. I had decided that I really liked Sev. He was funny but it was obvious that he really cared about Ash. I know that hundreds of people on social media did too but I was glad that she had someone to talk to.
I was actually nervous about asking Ash to come see her. I was scared that she would've said no or wouldn't have been as excited as me. I guess I just still can't believe that someone like her, someone so good, wants to be with me. It all just seems so surreal like at any second I'll wake up and it'll have all been a dream. All just a figment of my imagination. It was like no matter how much she told me she loved me my mind just wouldn't believe it. My heart knew it was true but my mind wasn't so sure.
A couple minutes later my phone started ringing again. The caller ID was unknown so I answered with caution.
"Hello?," I answered.
"Hey Thena! It's Sev," he said from the other side.
"Oh hey. What's up," I asked.
"Ash is pouting cause you're not here. She keeps moping around everywhere she goes and I can tell she really misses you. Sooo I was wondering if maybe you wanted to fly out early and surprise her," he said.
"Oh um I don't know...," I trailed off.
Of course I wanted to see Ash as soon as possible but I had classes. I could pack up and leave 3 weeks early.
"Come on! I'll pay for your ticket," he said.
"Well... that's very convincing. Yeah I'll come out early," I said.
"Great is next Friday good," he asked.
"Yeah that's cool," I said.
"Alright I'll text you the rest of the details," he said.
"Thank you Sev. Really," I said.
"Anything for my new best friend," he said.
"Okay bye. And thanks again," I said with a little laugh.
"Bye," he said hanging up.
I started emailing my teachers to let them know where I would be. Most of them were fine with it and weren't making me do any work in LA.
I was so excited to be able to see Ash that I had already started packing my bags. I threw in more outfits than I could possibly need and a bunch of other useless things. I fell asleep on my bed surrounded by clothes and products.
