Calypso

I sat at the place I always do,
For me and for you.
Thinking about how it could have been,
Should have been, and then it strikes me
You could be dead
Or you could be sad...
You could be throbbing
While I am sobbing.
Am I selfish, to feel this way?
To want you back? To want you to stay?
Loneliness has done this to me,
Made it so that I cannot see
Beyond you
And beyond me,
Beyond the life we could have had.
Beyond the waters that made us sad,
Beyond the fight that we must survive,
Beyond the people of which we were deprived....
You,my only warmth,
Thawing me to the core.
Come back to me, I beg of you,
I wish you could see it through,
But reality is they never do...
But it's you, you, oh you.
I hope for it to be true.
