At the words, fear coursed through you.Your last visit to a captain hadn't gone all that well. Sure they might be different people, one was a pirate after all. But, it was the title itself that made you want to crawl back under that blanket and pass out all over again. Yeosang must've seen the nerves on your face because his eyes softened.
"Y/N, he's really not that bad. You might like him, even. I promise." He said, extending his pinky to you. You shook it away, wringing your hands as you paced the room.
"I just got out of the brig, Yeosang, please don't put me back in there. I can't imagine what it would be like alone." As soon as you said the word, an image appeared in your mind. Ifera. This thought triggered another.
The Tome.
You knew you landed with it, that much you could remember. But what happened to it while you were unconscious? The realization that it wasn't with you made you panic. You were about to ask Yeosang when you realized you couldn't tell them about it.
"Y/N, you can't trust them."
The sea witch's warning rang through your ears and you stopped. You could always look for it after you dealt with the matter at hand.
"Okay." You breathed, "Okay, let's go see the captain."As soon as you left the safety of the infirmary, you felt alien. As you followed Yeosang, you could feel the eyes on you. One pair you recognized, most you didn't. The man from the rigging, Wooyoung, was hanging on the rigging once more. He gave you a slight wave when your eyes met. Whether it was meant to be reassuring or scare you more, you couldn't tell.
As soon as you crossed the main deck and stood in front of the captain's cabin, Yeosang turned around. "Alright, Y/N, whatever you do, don't speak unless you are spoken to, understand? I am trying to argue your case, so don't make my job any more difficult." You nodded as he turned around, pushing the door open to walk inside.
You followed quickly after him, and stopped at the sight. Inside, were three men. One sat behind a great big desk, and a map spread out before him. The other two stood behind him having a very heated discussion in low voices. As soon as their eyes fell on you, they went silent.
The man behind the desk stood, a smile on his face. "Yeosang, nice of you to join us." He was shorter than the other two, but every bit as intimidating... if not more. You had to grab a fistful of Yeosang's shirt to keep yourself from running straight back to the infirmary.
"Captain." Yeosang answered in greeting. If he'd noticed your grab for security, he didn't show it. One thing was for sure, Yeosang had a great poker face. Drawing inspiration from him, you let your own face go unreadable.
You waited silently as one of the men whispered something in the captain's ear, who then smiled. "Y/N, I presume?" He asked, although it was more of a statement than a question.
You nodded but didn't say anything, looking to Yeosang who gave you a small smile. Noticing this one of the men next to the captain burst out. "See?! This is what I'm talking about! Look at what she's doing to Yeosang!" The one huffed.
The other was quick to jump in as well. "We've never turned away anyone who so clearly needs our help, Jongho."
"Who are you kidding, Seonghwa!? We've never helped anyone before!" "Jongho snapped.
"Watch it, punk." Seonghwa growled.
"Having women aboard a ship is bad luck!" Jongho argued again. "Not to mention she's another mouth to feed, and I don't think she'll pull her weight. I mean, what can a woman even do."
