Chapter 15: A Sleepless Night

Angela's POV:

I turned from one side to the other in my bed. I thought I was already asleep but I really wasn't. I was truly wide awake. I sigh in stress and get out from bed. I took my robe and put on some flats, I quietly closed the door and decided to take a walk in the garden.

The only light was the one from the moon and the millions of stars. The smell of the grass combined with peace and quiet just made me relax a bit. I found a nice spot and sat down. The view of the village, the Bifrost and the water was lovely.

"I needed this." I say and sigh loudly. I didn't bother doing that since no one was around. Or that's what I thought.

"What are you doing out here?" Loki said. I roll my eyes and turn to face him.

"What are YOU doing here? And, why are you dressed like a garner?" I said.

"I asked first." He said and sat down next to me. I scooted away from him and he chuckled. "I don't bite."

I raised an eyebrow and said "I don't have to give explanations to you. And why on Earth will I ever think that you bite?"

His eyes widen a bit then he sighed and turned to see the view. "I just... I always go and visit Sleipnir. Plus, it was a good thing I came out here since I couldn't sleep."

I stayed quiet, trying to take back what I said. "Oh." We sat there for a couple of seconds and I decided to speak. "I just couldn't sleep either." I looked down at my ring and start playing with it.

"Isn't it beautiful?"

"Huh?"

"Yeah. The view of the city. It's beautiful right?"

I turned and frowned at what he said. Was he trying to make a conversation with me? "Um, it is lovely."

"Yeah." He let out a sigh, stretched his legs and leaned back with his arms. "I forgot about these peaceful nights."

"You forgot?" I asked. I was still trying to actually take in what Loki is talking about.

"Yes. Before... all this caos, I used to come out and just walk around with Sleipnir by my side. Sometimes we both feel asleep and got Frigga worried." He chuckled as I noticed he remembered those memories.

"Oh. Is Slepnir the only son you manage to see and have with you?" I asked.

He turned to see me with a confused face. "How do you know I have other kids?"

"I read." I said and smirked. His frown went away but I still knew he wanted to know. "I studied Norse mythology back in my high school years. You, Thor, Frigga, Odin, everyone basically. I know everything about you guys. Some people think of you as legends while others think of you, well as mythical gods. Mythical as in fake."

"Is that so?" I smiled as his frown was back in his face.

"Yes. I know that you have 5 children... if I'm right. Correct me please. Sleipnir, Hel, Fenrir, Jörmungandr, and Narfi."

"Narfi was never born... just, don't count Narfi." Loki said in a sad tone.

"Oh. I'm sorry." I looked back down and stayed quiet. 'Why do I keep on making things awkward?'

"It's alright. And, yes you did your research perfectly. But, do you know... um, you know who's child is who's?" He said, now in an embarrassed tone.

I chuckled and nodded. I turned and meet his green eyes. "Yes but I won't say anything about it if you want."

He smirked and said "No. It's fine. It's just that... It's a bit... embarrassing.  You see I was young and I had no idea what was going on ok."

I chuckled and said "I'm not judging you. And you don't have to be embarrassed of having kids. I mean, I don't have kids, but I bet it's beautiful to see them grow."

"Yes it is. But it's very painful to have them." Loki said and we both laughed.

"I've heard." I said, catching my breath. We calmed down and the sound of the wind howling took over.

"I... I appreciate for not laughing at this." He said.

I turn my whole body and face him. "No need for that."

He smiled and said "You know, Hel is the oldest, Fenrir the next, then Jörmungandr and the youngest being Sleipnir. Don't tell anyone, but Sleipnir is my favorite." He smirked and sat crossed legged facing me.

"I should say I knew about that. Mostly cuz you have him here and well... you had him." I was actually not affraid to say that. I guess we could let our fights for later.

"Yes, well you got it right." He smirked and we both stayed like that for what seemed forever. His green eyes just sparkled as the light of the moon stroke at them. His black long hair was nicely done to the back. He was just... perfect. 'Wait what? Perfect? Perfect for what? No. I'm not going to fall for him. Not the God of Mischief.'

Loki's POV:

Her blue eyes sparkled even more that the moon and all the stars all together. Her pale skin seemed so fragile and her smile... oh her smile! It could light up anyone's day.

"Um... y-yeah." I decided to interrupt the silence. She smiled a bit more and stood up.

"I should.. um, go back to bed." She said as I stood up.

"Yeah, me too." We locked our eyes again and I felt my legs go weak. 'What's happening to me? This can't happen. I promised myself I... no!'

"Well, goodnight Loki." Angela said. 

"Goodnight Angela." I said back and saw how she turned and walked away. I was debating in asking her to spend tomorrow with me since the rest were going to do whatever they were going to do. I really wanted to ask her but at the same time, I just wanted to leave her alone.

I sighed loudly and her name slid through my mouth. "Angela, wait!"

She turned and looked at me. 'Well... here goes nothing.' "Um... what are you going to do tomorrow?"

She frowned a bit then answered "I'm going with Thor and the rest to a cabin. We're going to stay there for a night and, I don't know what else he said. Why?"

"Eh... I was wondering if you... nevermind." I looked down at my hands. 'What an idiot.'

"You know, if you don't have anything to do, you could come and tag along. I don't think Thor will mind." She said. I looked up and she smiled at me.

"Well... the rest won't like my presence.  It's fine." I said.

I could say she frowned as she stayed quiet for a couple of seconds. "Don't worry about that. I can say I invited you."

My eyes got wide. Is she really going to do that? And... for me? "Uh..."

"It's a yes then. Just pack some comfortable clothes. Meet you tomorrow by the main entrance then." She smiled and left. I was there, not knowing what to do ar say next. But when I finally reacted, she was gone.

"I guess I'm tagging along." I said to the stars. I knew Frigga was up there listening at what I just said.
